Donald Trump has tweeted a video calling Mitt Romney a 'Democrat secret asset' after he went against his party in the impeachment vote - as celebrities praise the Utah senator for voting to convict the president.

Trump released the video several hours after he was found not guilty in the Republican-led Senate in his impeachment trial.

In the video, which bore resemblance to a political opposition ad, Trump accused Romney of being a Democrat spy.

In addition to calling him a 'Democrat secret asset', Trump also said Romney tried to 'infiltrate' his administration when he considered him for the position of secretary of state.

Trump, in a separate tweet, referred to Romney as a 'failed presidential candidate'.

'Had failed presidential candidate @MittRomney devoted the same energy and anger to defeating a faltering Barack Obama as he sanctimoniously does to me, he could have won the election. Read the Transcripts!' Trump tweeted.

Trump's attack on Romney came after the senator was the only Republican to vote to convict Trump on the abuse of power charge during his trial on Wednesday.

Seriously, an acquittal wasn't enough? He's going to go after anyone who doesn't fall right in line?

Dangerous times ahead.

What did anyone expect from this petulant little fuck stain?

The sad thing is, there are enough idiots in the US that they'll swallow up this shit and be in lock step with him. And some of those idiots post here on occasion too.

Trump has no idea about how a human being operates that truly believes in God and doing the right thing.

Sure, I will read the transcripts. Release them. What we saw was only a call summary with clear omissions. Maybe they just deleted um er you know but it's not like we are dealing with trustworthy people.

This is terrifying.

A snippet:
This attitude has permeated the president’s base. At rallies, people wear T-shirts that read rope. tree. journalist. some assembly required. A CBS News/YouGov poll has found that just 11 percent of strong Trump supporters trust the mainstream media—while 91 percent turn to the president for “accurate information.” This dynamic makes it all but impossible for the press to hold the president accountable, something Trump himself seems to understand. “Remember,” he told a crowd in 2018, “what you’re seeing and what you’re reading is not what’s happening.”

Bryan Lanza, who worked for the Trump campaign in 2016 and remains a White House surrogate, told me flatly that he sees no possibility of Americans establishing a common set of facts from which to conduct the big debates of this year’s election. Nor is that his goal. “It’s our job to sell our narrative louder than the media,” Lanza said. “They’re clearly advocating for a liberal-socialist position, and we’re never going to be in concert. So the war continues.”

When people can't tell the difference between what's right and what's wrong because their attention spans are so small and don't give a shit, we are so totally screwed. The voter turnout will decide the election in November. If enough people start to give a damn about what they believe in, Dems should be OK. If not, we are in for four more years of hell. The left needs to get its shit together and start thinking a step ahead. Part of me thinks that Bloomberg and his deep pockets might be the only way to counter.

Who didn't see this coming? Because the vote to impeach Trump was not completely partisan, he and his supporters will just say Romney isn't really a republican anyway to make it a partisan vote. When Trump and his supporters don't like reality, they change it in their minds to their liking.

Again. Target audience. He’s got it figured out. He’s dumb, but just smart enough to know there are enough stupid people out there and enough ignorant people to get re-elected. And he will. I see no way he loses.

That is some extremely unhinged sh*t Trump is spewing.

It is unacceptable behavior for the leader of any country to attack their political rivals in public the way that Trump does.

Apparently we have rights in the U.S., except it seems, the right to have an opposing opinion...
