Blazers in talks for center Jarret Allen.
But if it was a legit rumor, what’s a realistic trade for Allen that makes sense? Nurk + 23 + future picks?

Would love Allen.

Would love Allen as well. Not sure what CLE would want or would consider acceptable compensation. Any pick in the 1st round this year is worth more than it's equivalent in many prior years or years coming for a while.

It’s never too late to trade the #3 and Sharpe for CJ McCollum, pick up Steve Blake in FA.

No kidding. I have no problem with tanking but they are not even picking up future assets.

Yeah that Porzingis trade doesn't make sense. Maybe he told the Wizards he was going to opt out and leave if they didnt do the trade. Still not sure thats any worse than Jones and a 2nd.

If I was them I'd have at least wanted a 1st. Seems like Blazers or another team could've at least given #23 for Porzingis.

I sort of understand the Beal trade from their end as they saved $200 million and those first round swaps could be worth a lot if the Suns suck once Durant retires. Beal also had a no trade clause. But this Porzingis trade doesn't make any sense for them.

Windhorst hinted that the Cavaliers not only had interest in the No. 23 pick, which the Blazers acquired from the New York Knicks at the deadline, but also forward Nassir Little.

The pick I keep hearing about is 23 with Portland.

Where I have actionable intelligence is pick 23. The Cavs, from what I understand have had a lot of talks with the Blazers, not just for the 23rd pick, I think they have some interest in Nassir Little who was a forward who was injured for a lot of last year. But has already signed his contract extension.

I think the Cavs have liked him in the past, that’s a guy they have interest in so it may not even involve a pick. It may involve Nassir Little and a pick, or maybe nothing.

They’ve had quite a bit of talks. ... It seems like a lot of their discussions are revolving on the 23rd pick

Could be that KP didn’t want to be traded to Portland and threatened to opt out.

I think Portland has had interest in Osman in the past. Maybe still there. But Little + 23 is a really steep price for a franchise that in the last 7 years has invested 7 first round picks in Afflalo, Zach Collins, Swanigan, RoCo & Nance. The list of good & solid players they could have had with those picks is long and painful to read for Blazer fans. And it should be painful to read for the Blazer front office. So a 1st round pick for Osman seems pretty stupid and indicate the Blazers not learning from their own mistakes

hopefully, that was Portland fishing for Jarrett Allen

A name I haven't heard mentioned is Cam Johnson. If the Nets could pull off a sign and trade for Simons. Thats gives us a lengthy wing that can defend and shoot. If he can stay healthy...

A trade of Simons + 3 = Bridges + Claxton … followed by a trade of Nurkic = sign and traded Cam Johnson. Get this done, Cronin. Make me a happy Blazers fan ( … and an improved bench with Pritchard acquired from Boston).

I would go nuts with trade like that but Im not sure nets would give up both B&C for Simons & 3. Might have to include more?

It’s not my money, so more is fine.
+ Nas or + 23 or + ? If I’ve already gone that far, why not go a little further?

Those pick swaps are actually a pretty good haul. 2028 I believe might not be great as its the lesser pick from a prior trade. 2024 probably isn't worth anything as Washington will suck. But especially that 2030 pick when Durant and Beal have long ago retired could be anything even a very high lottery pick.

WAS actually didn't do too poorly for having zero leverage. Joe, are you paying attention?
