Dropping a load of science: Human hair found in 257,000 year old poop

The human species didn't exist until 200k years ago. So we round up 50k years? Lol

The article says it could've been homo sapiens or AMH. Doesn't specify which. Homo sapiens qualify as human though anatomically they are different than AMH (homo sapiens sapiens).

Oh my bad. I thought they were talking specifically about homosapiens

How were they anatomically different? Brain size, height, jaw? something else?

HSS (AMH) are a subspecies of HS. There is another subspecies but it is extinct (homo sapiens idaltu). Our skulls are bigger inside (relatively) allowing for larger brains, noticeable especially in the forehead (ours are vertical rather than sloped back and we have less of a brow ridge). However our skulls overall are smaller. We have thinner bones and smaller frames. Physically they'd give Jay Bilas a raging clue.

It's important to note that colloquially a lot of people refer to neanderthals as being ancestors to humans but they aren't. They belong to the same genus homo but are a different species. So are hobbits and h. erectus.

No human hairs in dinosaur dung though, right?

I just want to pat myself on the back for the thread title.
