OT Earthquake in Hualien Taiwan topples buildings

I have inlaws in this city and know those buildings....our house was just up the coast a bit...people trapped, died, injured....my family hasn't reported any loss but the two bridges that connect their areas are too dangerous to drive on...this was a bad one.

two hotels a business college and a military hospital toppled plus many buildings in danger or unstable...epicenter was only 1 mile under the sea...22 kilometers northeast of Hualien....my wife grew up there...my son grew up there through 3rd grade. earthquakes are common but this one was close to the surface
