Eastern Oregon, Washington, and Idaho should be embarrassed

what about lake county where 19% laker fans and to make it worse only 38% blazer fans? what is wrong with those people!!!!!!

That's it, I've changed my mind. Seattle should never get another NBA team.

How can anyone root for the Lakers....might as well kiss your sister! (and if you're not sure what that's like, ask HCP)

Southern Oregon is full of California transplants.

It's not just S. Oregon. It's everywhere and it's not just Americans.

I wonder if that's what it is with the areas i specified. The only people that care about basketball in the areas that put a team down being people that came from California? I'm willing to bet most former Sonics fans didn't put a team down, so it might be inaccurate.

And this is just what i've seen, so it's probably not accurate, but i've seen a lot more Warriors fans in Klamath County than L#ker fans.

So what, the one guy in Malheur county that watches the NBA moved from SoCal? The other twenty people that live in Malheur county don't watch the NBA, and like football.

Yeah the thing here is totally dependant on flavor of the decade. I imagine a similar map in the 90s would have shown the Bulls as being most popular. The Blazers at least dominate most of their own state, most teams don't even do that.

You have to respect New England for that loyalty though.

The map is is a bit misleading. A couple of counties in Oregon show as primarily lavendar but if you click on them the Blazers are the more popular team as a whole. Also if you look at the breakdowns outside of nna team territories what you see is a fairly even split with Boston, Chicago, LA and Miami. In a lot of cases LA has 18% of fans and another team is tied with a 3rd at 17%. So the creator of the map defaulted to lakers.

After reading this map, I have come to the conclusion that the Lakers are like a disease and they must be eradicated.

As an Eastern Oregonian, I'm not embarrassed at all. On the contrary I'm more embarrassed that people would take facebook likes too seriously.

Easy to compile data is not necessarily good data.

the lakers are popular in Pennsylvania ?

fuck that shit

I wonder how recent this data is. I understand the Clippers being the Lakers ugly step-sister, but with all the national ads for Griffin Force and Chris/Cliff Paul, you think the Clippers would be able to do better than 3rd/4th most favorite team in their own backyard:

Los Angeles County, Calif:
Lakers - 53%
Bulls - 8%
Clippers - 7%

Orange County, Calif:
Lakers - 58%
Bulls - 8%
Clippers - 7%

San Bernadino County, Calif:
Lakers - 61%
Bulls - 8%
Heat - 7%

Riverside County, Calif:
Lakers - 62%
Heat - 7%
Bulls - 6%

I guess decades of sucking and a racist owner will do that to you...

BNM

The Trailblazers should be a NW only thing. I mean it's the only NBA team we have. Who cares if half of say Lane County likes the Lakers.
They are the kind of team that attracts freeloading fans. I mean how many famous people are Trailblazer fans?

Great. I really am living in L@ker central. Ventura County - 63%. Even more than Los Angeles.

I lived in Lakeview for a while. It's all wiggers, meth heads, and old racist ranchers.

So Laker fans dominate the East, and Miami & Bulls fans are uniformly #2 & #3 all over the West.

Bullshit. Next poll, please.

Isn't Kobe Bryant from Pennsylvania? That might explain Lakers popularity there.

Obviously they have no judgment.

I didn't think Laker fans would be spread out all over the nation like that. They haven't even been good for awhile.
