Some knucklehead tripped the fire alarm Friday -- all it took was for the ball to hit a button on the wall -- which led to a piercing noise that made the gym uninhabitable for man or insect.

So while everyone fled for the exit, Eduardo Najera stayed and shot anyway, of course. With Yi. With gusto. And with an eardrum-shattering siren making his head ache.

Still, this was a good day: He was allowed practice contact for the first time since Paris, his left wrist held up fine, and now all he has to do is threaten Lawrence Frank to give back his uniform.

That could happen Saturday against Golden State, but he's not counting on it.

"Right now, I'm thinking about everything," he said. "Obviously, I was a little slow. On plays, I've got to review all that stuff. So I'm hoping I'm going to progress, but I'm ready to roll though."

Good news.Hes really going to help this team out. He is the vocal leader of this team

I love that Eddie Najera is taking Yi under his wing. I love it! THANK YOU KIKI!

Who at the Nets is working with Yi on his post moves? If Yi is to become a good player then he is going to have to go inside at some point in his career. Yi ain't gonna shoot 64% from the field every game and will need to get to the FT line when he is struggling.

I hope Najera gets to start.

The idea is to work the opposing starting PF to soften him a bit before Yi comes into the game. This might help Yi avoid his tendency to get into early foul trouble as well.

LFrank did this with Simmons and Boone in the first game, bringing in the hot shooters behind them to face either the bit tired starter or the backup of the other team.

When playing a rotation of ten this leaves our starters fresher in the fourth quarter when it really counts. Then we have the first team of Brook, Yi, and the hot SF to complement VC and DH to FINISH the game.

That's what I meant. Yi is outhustled and picks up two quick fouls in the first quarter. Wish Eddie was around, if not to start then to come in early.

I agree, he can set the tone for everyone especially Yi at the beggining of games.
