anyone use these handheld devices you can get off [...]? [...] If you have a device what do you use and are you happy with it? [...]I really want to get off [...]

Depends, are you male or female?

I haven't, but electro-anything makes me worry. Have you tried acupuncture? Make sure you find a well qualified one who's been doing it for a while, but this has helped me with a muscular and nerve issue in my thighs and helped my good friend with bad neck issues. But if you decide to try it, you have to commit to at least 3-5 sessions before making any decisions.

I got one and it helps. Use the gel liberally or the pads sit uneven and shock the crap out of you. Only use it for my back. For my neck, found that most of the problem was having my head leaning down too much. Restored the curve with a foam device 15min a day for a couple of months then just every once in awhile.

My neck has been bad since I got rear ended in high school (no need to edit that one, sounds great as is)

Ive spend $200 on 2 specially made pillows that helped but I still get headaches every couple of weeks that start in the neck. I can feel huge knots in it when it happens.

I would still try the Denneroll. It will get the correct curve back. I would then try to strengthen your neck with McKenzie exercises. Anything else is just going to give you temporary relief.
