If a Blazers medical staff says he's at 100%, that really means 70%.

I don't get why people keep saying that. He had two unrelated injuries. To me that's not injury prone that's just bad luck. It's not like he had constant knee problems like often or Roy. He had a knee problem then ripped his chest muscle. Correct me if I'm wrong here.... But I do agree I can't wait to see him play

I didn't say he was injury prone.

The opposite to my post would be "I'm excited to see what he can do if he gets injured again."

If I recall correctly, the surgeries on his knees where to correct something that he's had his whole life that caused his knee caps to pop out of place often. So I agree that I wouldn't call him injury prone at this point in his career.

I wonder if he has what it takes to be as good defensively as he seems to be offensively. I mean, I could envision a team in 3 years of Lillard/Williams/Batum/Meyers/LA that might not be too bad at all.

I agree to an extent, but I also remember this getting repeated about oden, how the injuries weren't connected, but they just kept happening. It's bad luck! we all said.

I don't know if Williams is injury prone. But I do know he's missed games due to injury and due to preventative surgery. I am anxious to see what he can do if he can stay healthy. Which is yet to be seen, on both counts. I'm also anxious to see what Batum and LaMarcus can do, if they can stay healthy. Etc.

Oden was an abomination. Just look at him, he looked 60. At least Elliot looks his age...

Not all of us said that. I'm not at all happy to be correct about Oden's obvious fragility, though.

A hard sneeze and the guy gets a major injury.

Yeah, and if I recall correctly, EWill is about a decade younger than Oden so that makes him what? 50ish?

;)

Gramp...

Injury prone? or just bad luck?

prone. It sucks, but it is what it is.

On the bright side this means more playing time for Will the thrill

Yeah We'll see. I love his story and hope he does well. I just (probably more than anyone besides Lillard) wanted to see Elliot play. I thought he had the potential to be a star at the SG position (already has better handles and rack taking ability than Wes) with a few years of healthy play.

Now he's more injury prone than Brandon Roy. And I will bet, that EVERY ounce of athleticism leaves him due to this injury. We all saw what happened to Nique...

He will not be with the team next season I'll bet. His QO is 2.37MM next season:

http://www.storytellerscontracts.com/

Luke Babbitt 2.90MM
Jared Jeffries 1.54MM
Elliot Williams 2.37MM
Nolan Smith 1.42MM
Sasha Pavlovic 1.39MM

Their salaries = 9.62MM

We will have 41.58MM of dedicated salary after those contracts are off of our books. With the Cap of at least 58.044 (probably will be just a bit higher next season) that gives us a little more than 16.46MM in cap room.

Good info . . . thanks for that
