Wtf

PORTLAND, Ore. - Trail Blazers guard Elliot Williams underwent successful surgery today to repair a dislocated right patella.

Dr. Neal ElAttrache performed the surgery at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles with assistance from Dr. Don Roberts.

The first-year player will miss the remainder of the 2010-11 season.

Williams has experienced patellar subluxation in both knees in the past and will undergo surgery on his left knee in approximately six weeks.

That's like getting cockblocked by your girlfriend, and finding out the Internet's out when she leaves.

its called preventive surgergy, might as well do it now if your gonna spend a year rehabing

Explain why this is a good idea unless your other knee actually needs surgery...?

It's not like getting a facelift and a brow lift while you're at it.

Maybe he's having surgery on his other knee, so Roy won't have to have surgery on his.

Smart move. By the time the lockout is over, Williams should be 100% with no knee concerns.

Elliot Williams, Basketball player.

A man barely a Blazer.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild him.

We have the technology.

We have the capability to build the world's first bionic all star.

Elliot Williams will be that man.

Better than he was before.

Bigger,

Stronger,

Faster,

DUNKIER!

Maybe, I'm thinking we are harvesting parts for Roy and Oden. Eliot won't ever have to have knee surgery again, because he won't have any knees.

Can you imagine Roy with a 48'' Vert.... That would be crazy.

Basically he has a condition where his kneecaps are prone to dislocation. His kneecaps would keep dislocating themselves because I assume that his knee mechanics aren't stable. The surgery will correct the misalignment. It would have been a matter of time before the other knee needed it. This isn't that surprising that if one had it the other did. I had a friend in elementary school that had to have this done.

Do our team doctors even fucking do anything when they are checking out draft prospects? Are you fucking kidding me? Elliot Williams was a raw, super athletic player with almost no NBA skills when we drafted him. You know what a raw, athletic player with 2 knee surgeries before he even gets started is? Out of the league before it ever started.

Where was it said that he had "almost no NBA skills"?

He might be raw, but I don't know if you could classify him as having "no" NBA skills.

I guess I'm just really not that worked up about a guy that I didn't expect much from. I'm really sad for the guy, because I don't think he should have to endure this kind of pain at that age, but I didn't have high expectations from him this season anyway.

I just did. Elliot Williams is just as raw as Outlaw when he came into the league. Now he is a Travis Outlaw with 2 knee surgeries his rookie season. Good luck with that one.

It's really doubtful that Travis would've been able to get into Duke, not only education/smarts wise, but basketball talent wise. It's not exactly the easiest basketball program to make. They kind of have high standards.

They let Cherokee Parks in

Cherokee wasn't lacking in NBA skills, he was lacking in sanity.

Actually, jk. He was just a little strange, but I don't know if NBA was his main goal in life.

Cherokee might have been "strange" in college, but he passed over into crazy once he got to the NBA... He was Birdman before Birdman was Birdman.
