Actually, Brand will probably be looking for a long term contract and with the Nets targeting cap room for 2010, it doesn't make sense that they would pursue him now. Sigh...
Brand only played 8 games last year, but he was still productive after missing all that time. If Rod could figure out a way to steal Brand, I'd be very suprised.
even if we do signandtrade or whatever to try to land brand or any of the other players that opted out - how would that affect the cap room we are clearing for the FA class of 2010 (with lebron and others)? Could somebody enlighten me on that

Projected to have about $20mm in cap space before rookies. If Lebron is the target there won't be enough room if we acquire Brand. Doubt he does a 2 year deal. He opted out in order to cash in long term.

Did the Knicks and Pacers move to the West?
</div>
Pacers wouldnt be far behind from us, as for the knicks once they buyout Steph I can see them winning 5-6 more than us.
You guys drafted 2 young big men and you think Thorn wants another one? I doubt he'll come, but it would be interesting. I think he might go to a team like maybe the Lakers...I don't know. A sign and trade would be very doubtful because he just opted out which means he wants to test the market. He isn't exactly looking to help out the Clippers and he wants A LOT of money.
I think at this time of Brand career, he would start to care less about money and more about the number of rings on his finger. So why would he sign with the nets? we have the least supporting cast to get him a ring
With Brand and Maggette opting out the Clippers have a ton of cap space right? What if they use it to get a PG and SG and then they resign both Maggette and Brand? What about sending Carter over to the Clippers for some cap relief and picks? Nets tank hard next two years and get top picks and build up for their target of 2010 free agents.
He should take the full MLE and sign on with the Lakers ; ]
He wouldn't have to move!
For real, I think he wants a pay day. Philly could offer him that, which I think they might just do that. I'd love for the Lakers to try and pursue a sign and trade with the Clippers for Brand. I'd easily give up Gasol for him.

With Bynum healthy, i wouldnt give up Gasol... the 2 WILL compliment each other with Gasol's passing and flexibility and Bynum's shotblocking and power down low...

The Celtics should send half of the team for him. And then have a starting lineup of Rondo, Allen, Pierce, KG, Brand.
