What gives? If he's hurt, tell us what happened to him this time. Is he still able to rehab while practicing?

It's a safe bet that he's not going to play this season. The fact that they renegotiated his contract down to $1 million says all you need to know.

At least he's got enough to go to dental school.

I was talking with my wife last night and she agreed that if he plays even a second in the Rose Garden as anything other than a Blazer, he will get the biggest booing of all time; worse than Z-Bo, worse than Trukeyglue, worse than Trevor Ariza after the Rudy incident.

I personally would bring a sign to that game saying "I want my money back, Greg".

Unless he plans not to even attend road trips to the RG, the only option that preserves his psyche is to retire.

Greg Oden is another player that needs to go this season.....enough! That should be our motto for next season, ENOUGH!

I keep switching between apathy and anger when thinking about Greg. Bad losses tend to make me more angry.

Besides all that, I'm most angry about the fact that we're kept in the dark by the organization. There are fans that pay big money and deserve to be kept in the loop regarding what's happening.

With every passing day, I am more convinced we are headed the way of the Sonics.

At least they aren't paying him $9 mil a year...yet. If Greg keeps signing for $1 mil a year, chump change for Mr. Allen, I think you keep him around just in case he's able to string some games together in the playoffs one of these years.

The Blazer lease runs through 2025 so they can't leave for at least 13 years.

No, no, no - don't you know grouch by now? He means we'll end up with three of the top talents in the league, a solid bench and have the best record in the league. Gotta love the dude for his optimism.

Yeah, that's it - the team with the longest sellout streak in the league is looking to leave its team-owned state of the art arena for a better locale. Of course even Sacramento couldn't find a better locale to move to - but don't let reality get in the way of the doom and gloom.

If Greg Oden steals all that money from us and never plays again as a Blazer, I say we form a mob-pitchforks and all and go make sure he'll never play again for anyone! ;)

If he was planning on doing that, Why would he even bother sitting behind the bench all game every game?

If oden wants to continue to cash in on his he has to play a few games or he will potentially lose millions in FA

Go ahead and snicker - but right now the kindest way to describe this franchise is "rudderless".

They are headed to the worst place an NBA team can be: not good enough to be competitive and entertaining; not bad enough to get a difference maker in the draft. How do you explain the neglect and indifference, unless PA has lost interest in the team? If he had any thought of sticking around, why would he let the franchise atrophy like this?

Their last draft was much better than portlands, so I'm not sure that's such a bad thing

Hanging around .600 for years is not the worst place a team can be. There are teams that hang around .300 for years and never make it to .600.

It's not like the lottery has been a windfall for us.

Nash wiffed twice on Telfair and Martell (we could have had our choice of Chris Paul or Deron Williams).

Roy/Aldridge were the only recent lottery picks that netted us anything worthwhile. Roy was great, but short lived and Aldridge is now out best player. So, the 2006 draft was a success, especially considering it really was an abysmally weak draft.

Then in 2007 we won the lottery and the right to draft a once a generation center. If only some one would have told us that meant we'd get a center who plays once a generation...

Y'know what pisses me off? If we hadn't moved up in the lottery, we probably would have taken Joakim Noah.
If we'd've moved up, but got the third pick, we could still have Al Horford.
And if we got the second pick, you KNOW Seattle would've taken Oden. I mean, they were on a huge streak of taking bust centers (Swift in '04, Petro in '05 and Sene in '06) and here was their chance to get a good one...

To be fair, Telfair wasn't that great of a wiff. [Edit: just went and checked: Josh Smith went 4 picks later! Oops!] The team did pass on Al Jefferson (supposedly there were members of the Blazer Brain Trust who wanted him) but he's been pretty patchy. But I guess taking Telfair set up the passing on Paul and Williams. That's the Great Blazer Screwup that isn't mentioned half as much as Oden over Durant, even though it's much worse. (And they did this despite it being FUCKING OBVIOUS that Telfair wasn't the answer, because Pritchard himself handed the keys to Telfair at the end of that season, and he was shit.)

Well I still have hope that oden will play this season. Maybe it's the homer in me; but I think he will play.
