Well today in the economics class, the professor said he believes in a hundred years from now English will dominate the world (the language that is) meaning it'll be spoken everywhere, not just for business, but pretty much everyone, with the older generations dying and newer one getting to speak English at an early age.
Personally I don't believe in it, I think even in the next 1000 years, we will have other languages, for example Albanian the language I speak, one of the oldest languages in Europe no connection with other indo-european, only around 10 million people in the Balkans, always invaded, whether by Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, then Italian and Nazi, yet language remained.
Your opinions?
