I just lost a chunk off one of my molars this morning.......chewing on a pistachio nut.

I have an appointment for a crown to be put on this Saturday. Fortunately, the tooth doesn't hurt. Feels awfully strange, though...... especially when the tongue grazes across the sharp edges of the tooth.

This will be the first 'major' dental work of any kind for me, so I'm kinda nervous about it. I have these thoughts that, prior to the crown being put on, I'll wake up in the middle of night in excruciating pain...and having to rush in for emergency dental work. :MARIS61:

That said, I spoke with BLAZER PROPHET this morning. He has connections in the dental world and basically told me not to worry too much about it. Just chew on the opposite side...and try and keep the injured area clean......so I will.

OK, just wanted get that off my chest.

The old pistachio nut excuse for the insurance company. Works every time. Thanks, BlazerProphet.

Next time she's on top, slap her chin to the side.

You're in for a world of pain on Saturday brah!

I've had that happen three times. I permenantly lost one tooth, because I just didn't get it fixed right away. I had that "Hey it doesn't hurt, so I will wait until I have time to do it." I won't do that again because it did hurt about 2 weeks later. In fact, I had to go to the fucking hospital because the infection went all the way down my throat.

The work done is painless. Hell even root canals aren't that bad with enough Novocain.

Bring an ipod and headphones so you can't hear the drilling. The drilling won't hurt but the sound of it will give you chills.

Why does that strangely remind me of that commercial with the gas-powered dentist's drill?

PS: Let's hold off having lunch until next week? The beer's still cold in my trunk. ;)

LOL! Ribs might not be the best idea with that tooth of yours.

Next week is fine.

When they shoot you up with xylocaine stuff it feels like a needle is piercing your eyeball!

You will be fine ABM, just relax, breath, and think happy thoughts. It will be over before you know it and you will laugh at yourself for being so worried about the whole thing. It's not like they are pulling a wisdom tooth or something.

Less candy and soda pop.

I don't drink soda at all. Not much candy, either. Actually, my teeth are in relatively good shape. The issue was, this is tooth that had a pretty deep filling from when I was in my 20's. Somewhere along the line, the tooth developed a fracture. It finally had had enough and the small piece chipped off at the fracture lines..

That said, thanks everyone for the sentiments. I'm just a big baby at heart.

AAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Just got back from the dentist. Rather than a $700 crown, I escaped with a $45 fill job.

This (partially) makes up for last night's Blazers/Suns debacle.
