From Netsdaily:

QUOTE

Jason Collins has started 381 games for the Nets in regular season, 58 in the playoffs, and has survived challenges by Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo and Marc Jackson, among others. Yet the Rodney Dangerfield of East Rutherford gets no respect for his team play, particularly on defense. Now, comes a new cast of big men wanting his job. No problem, says Twin.

link (from the Star Ledger)

Allen and Magloire have made it clear they want Collins' job. Too bad I expect Collins to start, next to Magloire.

I have my doubts Malik will even make the team.

Collins and Magloire would be my prediction for opening day starters, as well.

A pair of high-flyers down low. Nice.

I hope Nedad and Mag eventually start...health coming into play.

I also hope that Sean Williams and Josh Boone get a chance to show what they can develop into.

I admire Collins attitude and hustle but imho, he's lacking and probably isn't going to get much better.

Eventually I'd like to see Sean earn his way to the starting 4. The fact that Malik Allen is even thinking about competing for the starting job is hilarious.

We need someone who can dunk and rebound more than we need Collins' so-called "intangibles." Hey--maybe Stromile Swift is available. GO GET HIM THRON!

At least Malik Allen has the heart to compete.

At least? Who do you think is dogging it out there?

I don't know to much about Ilic's desire to play, I just know that he isn't very good haha

Mile could be a fine Fiba Center, but I don't get what you're saying about Malik. You're defending his effort, but no one attacked him. I agree it's a laugher to expect him to start though, he's still trying to get a contract.
