Twitter Jeffrey Hume and Stephanie Freeman
Stephanie Freeman and Jeffery Hume, two high school students from Carrollton, Georgia, have been expelled after posting a racist video on TikTok which was shared on Twitter and went viral. It has so far been viewed 4.5 million times on Twitter alone.

The person who initially shared Hume and Freeman’s video on Twitter captioned the video: “Okay I know this probably isn’t going to get a lot of views but I just thought I’d show everyone how racist the kids at my school are. The girl’s name is Stephanie Freeman and she’s a senior at Carrollton High School.” The other student in the video was identified as Jeffery Hume.

Racist bastards

What a shitty wrestling name too

I'm confused by a couple things:
  1. What is pouring water from cups with slurs on them over a piece of paper with a slur on it supposed to represent? Is there some symbolism here I don't understand?
  2. How does petitioning to deny racists the ability to work or be educated improve anything?

1.) Not 100% sure what is it supposed to represent.

2.)I think maybe it has more to do with making an example of them.

The idea is not that it specifically reforms these two people, but that shaming them and taking away opportunities sends the message that overt racism carries costs. As a deterrence effect, I don't know how effective it is--seems like a hard thing to study in a rigorous way.

Only thing I can think of is if you mix a liquid slur with a paper slur, you get a slurry.
