everyone knew he was lying about everything. i mean even his supporters didnt think he was telling the truth, at all. So im not really sure how many votes he really got from misinformation foisted upon the masses by a few joke sites. They got all the misinformation the could ever want from the man himself.

Hahahahahahaha. I fucking hate people.

I love my wife but she falls for fake shit all the time. Thanks to never being on Facebook I had no idea that this stupid shit was done on purpose.

Democracies rely on an informed public. If the truth is drowned out by a flood of bullshit (regardless if that source of bullshit is left or right) then we all lose.

Everyone and their mom are fooled daily by stupid shit you see on Facebook. I guarantee you more than 3/4 of the people on this forum have been victims of it.

Trump didn't win because of fake ass news stories. And there was just as much fake shit on both sides (so many fake stories against Trump). The key was for people to actually look up what they are reading and verify it from reputable sources. Albeit, nowadays even the MSM is not very reputable.

Hell, the majority of you guys still think Trump is some sort of white supremacist duped by liberal media news stories and context rearrangement.

For example, you can read this article by a liberal Puerto Rican Professor.

I never said he won because of fake news stories. I said fake news stories diminish the ability to have an informed electorate. It creates an illusion that anything that is written is untrue and simply partisan spin and buries the truth even when its presented -- like trying to find a needle in a haystack, or navigate your your way out of a house of mirrors. My point is, it's hard enough to tell what's reliable news when it's just coming from the MSM. Add in the avalanche of bullshit and no regular person can reasonably be expected to keep fact from fiction straight.

As for Trump being a white supremacist I don't think that's necessarily true, but I do believe he used racially charged rhetoric to whip up animus against non-whites during the campaign; tapping into the ugliest, lowest-common-denominator type of thinking -- and I didn't need "context rearrangement" or journalists to spoon feed me my opinion; I came to that conclusion when I heard the words from his own lips. Putting Steve Bannon in his cabinet is also a pretty good signal to me that the alt-right are going to have a prominent place in his administration.

Sorry, when I was talking about him winning because of fake news stories, I was writing to you, but also thinking about the original thread title. My bad. :)
Did you know Steve Bannon's senior editor is a gay Jew? :-)
I think the stories about Mr. Bannon might be false. I have yet to see reliable source prove he's what they say he is.

Anyway, lots of direct quotes in this story (and since Bannon hasn't sued Mother Jones for libel or defammation I guess it's true?) http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2016/08/stephen-bannon-donald-trump-alt-right-breitbart-news
An NPR story that's probably a pack of liberal lies right?
The Ben Shapiro break up with Breitbart was also illuminating to a degree: http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2016/05/ben-shapiros-messy-breakup-with-breitbart.html
All smoke, no fire I'm sure?

Also, if you think this is just about "my team" vs. "your team" you're be wrong. I'm willing to give Trump a chance because his failure (potentially) means disastrous things for this country. My only cares are about true "liberal" values: Freedom of expression, honest discourse, civil society, the rule of law and equal protections guaranteed in the Constitution. Steve Bannon having the president's ear makes me worry about those things.

What I heard from the link you supplied:

- So I heard him use the term "dyke", and say he wanted to bitch slap the republican party.
- He also hires Jews, and Steve Bannon gives him Saturdays off and his Jewish holidays off.
- Then we have the hearsay from his wife.

What I read from the link you supplied was nothing much about Bannon, but more about Milo and Ben's feud which is just a bunch of bullshit being slung back and forth. Likely a co-worker feud or personal feud. It's not secret that Milo likes to say off the wall shit for the lulz. The guy is Jewish and makes fun of Jews, it's akin to whites making fun of sweat pant wearing fat white boys. I don't know. I see a lot of bullshit infighting amongst old peers.

About the titles from his site, look up this person. Milo (the gay Jew) made 5 of the 6 titles that people are all in a tizzy about. But he does it, not because he's racist/bigot/misogynist, etc. He does it to trigger people, troll them, and say whatever the fuck he wants, not to offend, but to prove his points.

Milo actually is a pretty good speaker, when it comes to freedom of expression and speech. Here's an example of his carefree approach to his speaking opportunities:

Here's something to read about Steve Bannon:

Sure he is, but also is part Jewish.

Milo is king! I love him!

The fake news stories are only part of the equation. They mostly just reinforced each sides perspective. Most of the people that fall for them would never have voted for Clinton no matter what. I mean if you seriously ever believed that Obama was Muslim/blank panther plant to install Sharia law, then you were never going to vote for Hillary no matter what. Then from the left side all you hear is DT is a homophobic, racist reincarnation of Hitler. Hillary loved to push this narrative and dismiss the issues herself. John Stewart just nailed it "nobody bothered to asked Donald Trump what makes America Great." instead we all just filled in the blank with our own projections.

I get what Stewart is trying to do. It's the same thing Romney may be trying to do. Look, if we stand back and just point out that he's a serial-lying failed steak salesman who rode to success by stoking Rust Belt white resentment, he'll get all sulky and sink even lower in his basement surrounded by the very worst of the very worst. We've got to pretend he's okay to get close and try to get some sanity in the administration. But let's all remember that this was Stewart about 2 weeks ago:

And yes, if we REALLY think that all the people who voted Trump are like the people writing swastikas everywhere and chanting "Build The Wall" - then America really won't be like we fondly thought it might be. So yes, there must be some kindly Grannies who voted Trump. But then you've got to wonder why all the "grab them by the pussy" and "murderers and rapists" and "ban on muslims entering this country" and walking in on Miss Teen USA pageant contestants in the hope of seeing them naked and all that didn't give them pause. One answer is that they really did think that Hillary Clinton had FBI agents murdered and engaged in Satanic Rituals.
