Specifics were not known, but a source said the situation was "pretty serious."

After practice yesterday, team president Isiah Thomas gathered the Knicks around for a prayer for Richardson's family.

Richardson is unlikely to rejoin the team for the rest of the three-game West Coast trip. </div>

Yeh his brother died...This is really sad considering he just came off a decent game and was about to turn the corner

Its been a tough year, personally, I feel alot for him, changing teams, relationship issues, having a down year with a difficult coach...and now this

All I can do is pray and hope God give Q the motivation to continue in life as a brother to his lost brother who soul still lives...and as a guy who's going to entertain us as loyal fans
