What are some of your guys' favorite songs that are overplayed on the radio? For me, it's Fergie. God damn she's ugly, but there's something about her that's sexy. (Yes, I know...she peed her pants, don't need to bring it up). Glamorous is that ****.

If you don't like any trendy songs, than don't post. There is no need to say something negative.

Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" - I bought the album and rather enjoyed it.

I never got into Gnarls Barkley. The rest of my family though, is absolutely in love with their music.

There is a song called "2 Step Bhangra" that was getting airplay in Toronto and gaining recognition. It's a half Punjabi half English song that had even the non-Indians boppin to it.

lol, in Canada the Arcade Fire is actually mainstream now. So I'll pretty much pick anything from them.

That's cool. I'm not a huge fan, but I like it. I think they present something really original.

Oh yeah, they're pretty original. I never checked out the full album, how would you rate it?

Um... today, nothing really, unless you want to consider RHCP "trendy."

If you mean like a pop, emo, dance, etc. song, then I honestly don't like any of what's out there now, which is a shame, because some of the pop from the mid-90's when I was in school was great (no, not the Backstreet Boys and all that bullshit, but like Ace of Base, Third Eye Blind, ATC, Weezer, Beck, Eagle-Eye Cherry, Jamiroquai, etc. Those groups were my "guilty pleasures" back in the day; the kind of groups that you'd only listen to when you were absolutely sure no one else could hear you playing them but enjoyed for whatever reason none the less.)

I agree entirely with you VC, the music back then wasn't shameful to listen to as the majority of stuff is nowadays. I liked a few of Eagle Eye Cherry's tunes myself.

I would rate St. Elsewhere at 8/10. A lot of experimental stuff and plenty of tracks you won't be skipping to get to your favorite(s). The album cover booklet is really cool as well.

Also, they may be on the radio and all over the television, but surely haven't allowed all that BS to change who they are.

A while back I downloaded all the songs that I "grew up on", as in, before I was picky about what genres I listen to and what not. Not counting BSB and NSync, the songs from 1997-2001 were awesome for me in all honesty. Hearing them again just reminds me of the days when I was a kid. It wasn't even really the words or whatever, but the tune of some of the songs were great to just chill and listen to. It brought back a lot of memories.

Next - Too Close, Weezer - Island In The Sun (I know, not that old), Blur - Song 2, Maddona - Frozen, The Offspring - Why Don't You Get A Job, Pretty Fly, etc. Yeah, they were pop songs, but they were all still enjoyable IMO. Nowadays, I haven't been feeling much of the "pop" in the mainstream, and most of the radioplay songs are either hiphop, r&B crossovers, or straight rock. I enjoy listening to Daniel Beddingfield though, although I don't think he's that trendy

.</div>But aren't you a Justin Timberlake fan?

Well, I think his recent songs are nice (2002 - present); I didn't really listen to him in the NSync days.

Yeah I like Justin Timberlake too, "My Love" and "Like I Love You" mainly, since he went all R&B.

If you have guilty pleasures, you're listening to music for the wrong reason. I'm currently diggin'

Fergie Feat. Ludacris - Glamorous
Justin Timberlake - What Goes Around
Young Jeezy Feat. R. Kelly - Go Getta
Lily Allen - LDN
Timbaland Feat. Nelly Furtado & Justin Timberlake - Give It To Me
Gwen Stefani - Wind It Up

In related news, I watched NSYNC's I Want You Back video a few hours ago. 'Twas good fun!

Nice. I forgot about her. She's actually really talented.

I absolutley hate Lily Allen, she has the worst voice I've ever heard, and her songs are so stupid.

I love that song for some reason.

lmao, she actually has some very clever lyrics. tbh I'm not into her, but as far as "trendy songs" go, she's a lot better to me than fergie

nelly furtado - promiscuous.. i still can listen to that song with full enjoyment..her new single is killing me though. lily allen isnt the greatest but she wears jordans and looks like a cokehead which makes her a keeper in my book

All these (current mainstream) songs are terrible, but I can't believe Sasha said he/she liked that Gwen Stefani "Wind it up" song. And you said Cornell was a bad singer? Christ.

For future reference.

Yes, Cornell is a bad singer. He always will be.

Hahaha, you got me back.

Yeah that song he performed in the opening of Casino Royale was pretty bad. I liked the music though, but Cornell didn't compose it.

He's a lot better than most of the people on this list, what garbage.

I'm not talking about Casino Royale Cornell (for the record, not in response to you M Two One). Who cares about that song?

I was replying to Sasha, hence the quote, bro.

Well fellow, my response still holds to be true. But for clarity, read that post again, I edited it.

What's your point?

<div class="quote_poster">Sasha Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">What's your point?</div>

Your taste is awkward.

Throw some D's on it. Anyone feeling that song?

<div class="quote_poster">huevonkiller Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Your taste is awkward.</div>
So, shoot me.

You have to realize that when I say Chris Cornell is horrible, I judge that on his entire catalog of music. From Soundgarden to Temple of the Dog, to solo, to Audioslave, and back to solo. I'm not saying any of those artists are better than Cornell, hell I don't know that. I've only heard at most a song or two respectively from any of them. However, my reasoning on Cornell's sucky-ness still stands. So, as I said, shoot me because I have varied musical tastes. Hell, I listen to opera as much as I listen to death metal and hip-hop as much as I listen to folk. If I listened to one genre of music, I'd go crazy.
