Final Fantasy XIII Release Date Announced

November 13, 2009 - Square-Enix has revealed the North American and European release dates for Final Fantasy XIII. The long-awaited title will ship simultaneously on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 9, 2010.

"We know that our fans have been eagerly awaiting the next installation of the franchise – FINAL FANTASY XIII will exceed all expectations," said John Yamamoto, president and chief executive officer of Square Enix, Inc. "Coming simultaneously to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for the first time, FINAL FANTASY XIII will be available to all players who are looking for the most immersive gaming experience of 2010."

The game is scheduled to ship on December 17, 2009 in Japan. Final Fantasy XIII was first officially unveiled at E3 2006 for PlayStation 3. Two years later, Square-Enix would announce the title would also be coming to Microsoft's Xbox 360.

Nice, I've missed out on the last 2 (12 and 11) 11 was an MMO so didnt pay it no mind, but I didn't even hear about #12 coming out.

#12 was ok....it was just as good as 10 but none have come out on PS3 till this one, so it should be really good

Anyone got this yet???? Picked it up on thursday, first part was brutal, but now the game is starting to really pick up and i cant take my hands off it

Game looked like a snoozefest to me. Combat apparently can all be done at the press of a single button and for a huge chunk of the game, you're basically playing on rails. Not my type of game. I might check it out at some point, but not any time soon. I'll stick with Battlefield.
