Sometimes it looks like the pieces don't work together as well as planned. I like Roy, but he limited to the half court--does the guy ever push the ball?

My thoughts:

Half Court Unit:
C: Oden
PF: Frye (can sit outside and shoot)
SF: Outlaw
SG: Roy
PG: Blake

Up Tempo/Trapping Unit:
C: Joel (mainly for rebounding and outlet passes)
PF: Aldridge (runs the court best and traps well)
SF: Batum (traps well and moves without the ball well)
SG: Bayless (runs and pushes the ball and can shoot)
PG: Rudy (pushes the ball, always moving,

That's all we need Oden injured LMA in the 2nd unit and Frye starting. I like Frye but he is to soft and can't do enough to be a starter over LMA. The starting unit IMO should be but with Nate probably never will:

Oden
LMA
Rudy
Roy
Bayless or Blake

or

When Webster comes back and try Roy/Rudy without a true PG
Oden
LMA
Webster
Roy
Rudy

You can't just take Sergio out like this. He improved, had a good preseason, and played a bad 5 minutes. He needs time...

I saw this lineup in the Clippers preseason game. It was really bad. Roy is not a SF, and they were getting killed because of the lack of size.

My main premise is that one of Aldridges strengths is his ability to run the court. But, Blake and Roy never seem to get him the ball when he does, so he stops trying. That wouldn't be a problem if he was running with Rudy and/or Bayless.

Then you take Blake out and put Bayless or even Sergio you don't take out LMA. He had a bad game last night but on most nights is going to be our best scorer and needs to start. You don't take LMA our for Frye. I watched Roy/Rudy with Sergio and/or Bayless together in the 4th qtr of our first pre-season game and they looked great together. I know it might not work against teams that have big strong SF's like Clev etc.

The only mistake was starting Outlaw instead of Batum. It showed a lack of confidence by the coach. You can't do that going into the first game against the Lakers.

Oden
Aldridge
Batum
Roy
Fernandez

That should be our starting unit

Blake
Bayless
Outlaw
Frye
Przybilla

That should be our reserves

I'd add Sergio to the reserves, but Check for the starting lineup.

I don't mind that starting lineup, but I think you have to lose the two unit mentality then, as the second unit would have issues. If you take your first unit, then I think you just sub in as needed, but always make sure that one of Roy/Rudy is on the floor.
