In comparing the Angels Team ST stats (noted below), I'd have to say, the Yanks have a much better Starting Pitching Staff. I still wonder why the Yanks did not try to grab C.J. Wilson, he's looking like the Halo Dominat #1 starter, not Weaver...!!!

Yet, those Angel hitters have been hitting well. To well, yet what can I expect from ST, batting against rookie NRI, or prospects, or simply kids, the teams need to see in gamer situations.

yep, by far, I'm not to worried with our SPs. Sabathia looks like he's going to have a career year, I hope so! Tanaka is our #2 SP, and I imagine throughout the year, he will put up a good case, for the #1, starters job. It will be a treat to see indeed.

I only hope those Bronx Bombers find their stroke, pick up the tempo, and begin to slug like Bronx Bombers are supposed to..! Seems to me like the kids trying to salvage a Pro Roster Spot, are more determined, than the starting 9. But then that should be expected, in a shoot out.

Let's compare the Yanks to the Halos, ST numbers, just for a comparison:

Starting estimated line-up:

Games AB-Hits B’Avg
Aybar 21 49-15 . .306
Kendrick 20 54-11 .370
Freese 19 50-13 .260
Green 22 53-18 .340
Stewart* 23 47-14 .321
Pujols 20 53-17 .321
Hamilton 21 30-11 .366
Trout19 54-22 .407
Long 23 49-20 .408

Starting Pitching

IP ERA W-L K’s BBs
Garrett 23.1 3.86 2-1 15 4
Weaver 21.2 3.74 3-1 15 6
Blanton 20.1 7.08 1-2 13 8
Wilson 28.2 1.88 2-2 35 10
Santiago 22.1 3.63 2-1 24 9
Skaggs 20.0 4.95 2-1 13 10

Every April you've got 200 hitters hitting 400, duds playing over their heads, pitchers performing poorly due cold weather conditions up north. Remembering Wells and Overbay ripping it last April then dropping dead is something that won't happen this season. Seventeen games against AL east completion in April will tell a bit of a story. I think the team is a good unit plus some of the Minor Leaguers have looked good as well. I'm pulling for this team to kick some tail this season.

Amen......good point...my sentiments exactly...!!!!

We've got to be impressed with the pitching though. And of all the starters I am worried most about its Mark (I don't start hitting until June) Teixiera.

Great song & I believe there only hit. Many people were under the impression that the song was about Nam. It wasn't.

...one of my fav all time tunes...simple but still haunting guitar riff. Steven Stills and Neil Young were so very young in '67.

I agree Ron. You know its funny its one of four of my favorite songs that were basically one-hit-wonders. This one, Tainted love by Soft cell, In a gadda da vida by Iron Butterfly & Don't let me be misunderstood by Sana Esmarelda. The last two being something like 15 minute songs.

...I wish I had a dollar for every time I listened IN A GADDA DA VIDA...the ultimate acid rock tune. Great drum solo at the 6:20 mark.

Totally amazing how that song takes me back, as the 3 minute drum solo fades the haunting sounds of the organ creeps in. Shit the only thing missing was the strobe lights, a tab of acid & some Yago Sangrea to wash down with. Or if all else failed a joint & a good bottle of mad dog 20-20

...yup, still can't believe I survived the 60's...in fact, I can't believe anyone survived the 60's.

Here's one for you Ron, one of the best guitarist ever, Alvin Lee & Ten years after, from Woodstock....."I'm going home" Gotta love the guitar solo at the 5:30 mark.

I can't seem to find it but another great piece was from the 1971 concert for Bangladesh. Leon Russell doing the "Jumpin jack flash / Youngblood medley.

Many have said that if you remember the 60s you didn't live. I still can't believe some of the shit I did. And survived.

This is like fucking music night at the SPORTSTWO CAFE.

actually the core of Buffalo Springfield, was a a huge chunk of great Neil Young golden hits. When the band broke up, we wound up with Neil Young and Crazy Horse and Crosby Stills Nash, then Young. We had the Byrds David Crosby leave the Byrds for CSN then Y. Richie Furay of Buf. Spring. went on to form the band, Poco. The remaining Byrds, developed into The Flying Burrito Bros, and Gram Parson...onward to Crosby and Nash, who quit the Hollies to join BufS...played extensive harmonies on Jackson Browne's first albums, and then right there the L.A. sound blossomed. Browne wrote 3/4ths of "Take it Easy' which the Eagles made a hit. Glen Frey of the Eagles was Jackson's guest and confidante in Jacksons apartment, when Frey moved to town, and who had either played with Gram Parsons, or like Furay, got to know GP, in Boston during GPs early folk trio days. So everyone in L.A. music was tied into another small family group.

So you'd think a band with that kind of talent would have had more then the one hit. Good stuff Berra.

Pauly you fuck....you stole my thunder, you low life mo-fo, that's the same story I told you about the history of Sunset Blvd. You live in the sticks, the tornado alley has sucked your brain dry.........

"Take it easy, don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy"...better yet, those wheels did drive you crazy SOB...You plagiarist mother of a dog........

Go watch your Royals ballgame
, and don't come crying to me when they lose....I cannot believe the majority of MLB analysts picked KC over Detroit, I utterly don't buy it, as those very analysts based their predictions on hitting alone, and never ONCE mentioned their lack of quality veteran ace pitchers, rookies can be great, however the best young guns ARE IN ST. LOUIS you moron....all kidding aside, may the next tornado lose you in OZ......tell my sis, she married a moron.......hehehaha...Do I really need to say J/K?

Another little known group that really only had one major hit ( For your love ) that sprouted several stars & later formed one of the greatest rock bands EVER, were The Yardbirds. whose early members were Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck & Jimmy page. The latter went on to change the name of the group & started calling themselves Led Zeppilen. & later added members Robert Plant & John Paul Jones.

But Clapton, Beck and Page never performed together as the Yardbirds. Slow hand left because 'For Your Love' was too pop of a direction and he was committed to playing the blues.

Never said they did young fella. I said the band sprouted several stars. Pay attention will you. If I knew how to use icons, a smiley face would have been applied.
