They are THAT good, sports fans.

Excellent, hard-fought win tonight against formerly undefeated TCU.

BSU 17 TCU 10

Wow. Heck of a game.

I'm a Beaver fan first.
Boise State fan second.

That was great! :ghoti:

Gramps...

depends on what you mean by THAT good.

top 5 team no doubt.

I would have much rather seen both BSU and TCU play one of the big boys. BSU really hasn't proved anything with this win. Beating Oklahoma last year, or what that two years ago? Anyway, now THAT was a huge win. Otherwise, BSU HAS played some cup cakes. I'm not entirely convinced they're big time material after beating TCU. BSU vs Florida would have been sick.

Yeah, I hear ya there. I was just talking to BP about this and he feels the same as you.

At any rate, the song is tired, but playoffs are needed.

I still think they are middle of the pack in any major conference.

This year? I think they win almost ANY major conference. I think they would probably come up 2nd in the Big 12. 3rd in the SEC. 1st in the Pac-10. 1st in the Big 10 (MAYBE 2nd). And first in every other conference in D1 football.

My opinion. I think they are the 4th best team in the country.

I wouldnt rank them that low. I dont think they would be ranked as high if they played in a tougher conference.. caus eI think they would be good for 2 losses. But I certainly dont think they are middle of the conference. 2nd at worst IMO.

i think they could win the big east or acc.

but i don't think they'd be middle of the pack in any conference. 3 losses in the big 12 or sec(depending on the exact schedule) wouldn't surprise me, but that still isn't middle of the pack.

Look at BSU schedule... they barely beat a UO team in the first game of the season at home... not one ranked team among the rest!

Team
Oregon - 16th ranked at time
Miami (OH) - not ranked
Fresno State - not ranked
Bowling Green - not ranked
UC Davis - not ranked
Tulsa - not ranked (close game)
Hawaii - not ranked
San Jose State - not ranked
Louisiana Tech - not ranked (close game)
Idaho - not ranked
Utah State - not ranked
Nevada - Not ranked (close game)
New Mexico State - not ranked

One win against a top 20 team and they to to Fiesta Bowl? WTF? Three close games against Tulsa (5-7 vs crap), Lousiana Tech (4-8 vs crap) and Nevada (decent schedule but lost 35-0 vs Notre Dame for comparison).

Compare that to the ducks... who faced SIX top 20 ranked teams and beat five of them (two teams were in top 6). (also lost to unranked Stanford who was later ranked)

I see no evidence BSU is as good as some of you believe. Without playoffs we can't really ever know how good a team that doesn't play any real teams is. If they played the Duck's schedule... do you think they would have had just two loses? Really? I could see them lose to USC, Standford, Az, OSU and Cal... and of course Oregon on any other day.

And OSU gets TCU and BSU next year.

Fantastic. At least we aren't starting a new QB or anything...

With a new QB too. Could be painful... but good learning experience for OSU.

...there is still a very slight chance that Lyle gets granted another year :smiley-scared:

really I hadnt heard that. Medical since his ankle?

bsu would do pretty good in the pac but the thought that they would dominate is laughable. when you have to perform week in and week out at a high level, losses will happen. that's what makes runs like SC's, tOSU's and UF's, so amazing.

well said, and agreed.

...medical anyway, not sure how they will classify it :dunno:

gotcha, I hadnt heard that until you mentioned it. Well for everyone's sake involved I hope he gets it. Hate to see a career and college experience end due to injury.

Who other than Texas would they lose to?
they could potentially lose games to nebraska, oklahoma, oklahoma state, missouri, and texas tech. obviously i don't think they'd lose all those games and they likely would be favored in all of them.

and like i said, it would depend on the exact schedule. if they had to play a big 12 south schedule while also playing nebraska, 3 losses wouldn't surprise me.
