That's all I have until I have to give a informative speech for public speaking and I'm really starting to freak out.

Maybe we will get 10 feet of snow before then and class will be canceled. I mean it is February, right? Even if it is 60 degrees outside it could still happen.

I used to hate doing speeches for class, but if you know you stuff it's easier to do IMO.
The thing that turned it around for me was I had to do a speech on a process. So I chose to do a speech on how to make peanut butter and jam sandwiches. I researched prices, kinds of bread, Peanut Butter and James. I had 'props' for everyone and the class got to make a PB&J sandwich

Just take a deep breath and think 'go for it' have the confidence that no one likes public speaking and that everyone in the room understands this.

I know easier said than done, but having a positive mental state helps.

I have done a lot of presentations and speeches before, but for some reason this one is freaking me out. Maybe because I'm being judged on my ability to speak rather then my ability to think.

And I forgot to mention that they things we did last week (research, outline, etc) is 70% of our grade so even if I bomb the speech I'm still pretty much guaranteed a C so I don't know why I'm freaking out. It's not like if I don't do well on this speech I'm going to fail the class.

I was calm, cool, and collected... until I had to give the speech. I was pretty nervous when I got up their but I managed to get through it.

Anima do you go to UH? I had to give the same speech last week. The grader wrote down don't swear on my grade sheet, but I don't remember saying anything. Maybe she misheard me. Well, we do get points off for saying uhh or umm, so I might have said shit instead. I don't think that was the case.

Was your speech assigned or did you get to choose the topic yourself? We got to choose them yourselves, as along as we didn't talk about anything illegal, like smoking weed, how to kill someone, that kind of thing.
