The team finished the season 8-10, which is roughly a 36-win pace. Since then, they've added four decent (mostly defensive-oriented) vets (Jarvis Hayes, Najera, Dooling, Bobby Simmons). They've added three well-regarded rookies (Brook, Ryan, CDR) and a well-regarded soph (Yi). They've subtraced Boki (erratic shooter, bad back, no defense), Diop (no offense), and RJ (no interest in playing defense). There's also Krstic, who contributed NOTHING last year. Of those three, only RJ really contributed to the team success, and just how much is up for debate. Even forgetting about a few moves still to come (KVH contract, moving Swift, Marcus, and maybe Hassell), why wouldn't you think that this team could win 35 games?
That's not great--maybe not even average--but I'd place that above "not good."
BTW, let's say they swung a S&T for Okafor (I don't know, maybe Krstic, Swift, Ager, and Sean?). What would you think of the team then?
