Two photons entangled, in different times.

Physicists Create Quantum Link Between Photons That Don't Exist at the Same Time
http://news.sciencemag.org/2013/05/...k-between-photons-dont-exist-same-time?ref=hp

This blows my mind. Read the whole article, it is very simply written so even dummies like me can understand. I had previously asked in another thread how entangled particles could communicate over distances quicker than light could travel, and the answer was basically, nobody knows. Well, it would seem to me that if entanglement can happen outside of time, that's also the answer to my previous question. They are not necessarily communicating faster than the speed of light, they are actually circumventing time completely, making speed irrelevant.

By the way, I post these science articles often but they get very few responses (BGD threads usually get more responses) Are people not interested or do they not feel comfortable discussing these topics? Or am I not finding interesting topics? Just wondering, I would love to spur more science talk here.

you say protons the first time, I think you meant photons.

The reason I don't really participate in these threads can be explained in one video:

Haha

Seriously though, you have already proven yourself to be smart. Join in sometime.

Brain hurt.

But really, I mostly get my science fix at places other than this forum.

Interested, but often have little to add. Quantum mechanics is definitely not my field. I mean I had exactly one physics class in college.

That is pretty freaking cool! Makes me want to go work on the flux capacitor.

That said I'm not surprised this type of stuff doesn't get much discussion I'm somewhat knowledgeable of physics but would have to read up a lot before having any sort of insight worth a damn.

This I'm fine with, just knowing even if people aren't ready to discuss the subject, that they are actually reading the articles and thinking about it.

And I'm not being self-depricating by saying I'm an idiot when it comes to this stuff. I really am just trying to learn by reading these articles and digesting the info as best I can. I never went past intro to physics in school. I know that there are more physics-literate people who roll their eyes at some of my comments. But I don't care, this is how I learn.
