Typical game report, we kicked their collective posteriors, etc., etc,. etc.

From Brew Hoop Blog

That said, I found this little tidbit at the end to be somewhat worthy of note....

Outlaw vs. RJ. Similar box score lines for the two starting small forwards tonight, but one number that's not similar: Outlaw will make a non-guaranteed $3.6 million next year while Jefferson will earn $14.2 million with a further $15.2 million due the next year. Ugh. On nights like this it's very obvious why Kevin Pritchard opted against swapping Outlaw and Raef LaFrentz's expiring deal for RJ.

I couldn't agree more. I was soo against trading for Carter or RJ.

Nice find ABM. After one of the most solid, all-around performances for Trav, that blog is a nice reality check for the anti-Travis camp. We have some very low cost, high return players! If Travis could bring that type of performance consistently, then the small forward spot will be even more difficult to resolve. Key word-- if. Who wouldn't love to see that level of production from the starting sf all the time?!

I prefer what we get from Nicolas as opposed to what Travis gave us last night, all offense and no D to speak of won't get us very far come playoff time.

Richard never impressed me much when we played the Bucks. I think we did well to keep that cap space to bring in another PG in the offseason like Bibby or Sessions.

No D? Lets not confuse giving a wide open 24 footer to someone because he un- wisely helped double team another player. In many situations Travis is a decent defender. Far from "No D to speak of". He is often put in a tough situation. He has to guard the perimeter, help out with "Star Players" and rebound. No doubt he gets burned. Some of it is hus fault and some of it is the defensive strategy. (Which by the way is similar to what Sloan does in Utah. defend the basket first) No doubt Batum is better on D, but Travis makes plays too.

He was also repeatedly abused by Jefferson going to the basket, and he got backed down and scored over in the post by Charlie V as well. His man defense on the perimeter is what it is, bad, and his help defense just keeps getting worse.

Repeatedly? Is that possible when you go 5-14 in 38 minutes?

Aside from having trouble keeping Sergio Rodriguez in front of him, Sessions' night ended early in the fourth when he had another pass picked off followed by a charge on the very next possession.

Sessions = Jarrett Jack

I was pretty adamantly against a trade for Jefferson, so his performance against the Blazers (a team without the greatest wing defense, considering Batum didn't play) is hardly surprising to me. Jefferson is not the player he was a few years ago.

But, but - I was told KP threw the team under the bus!

Hardly. Jack is very definitely a combo guard, Sessions is a pass first point guard.

Ramon played about as badly as I've ever seen him, I'm not so sure I'd use last night's performance as any kind of benchmark.

Jefferson is a nice supporting player who is being paid like an all-star. If he were on a Webster/Outlaw sized contract, he would be worth having. As is, he is a problem.

I recall you wanting to swap....

Whats swap mean? I wanted Butler and Wallace!

I'd take either Butler or Wallace...

No thanks on VC. No thanks with Milwaukee either. Charlotte talks still goin', so that is good. Granger's name came up, most likely fake, but if there is any chance you trade the house for him. maybe his injury will decrease his value.

Caron rumors seem quiet, so that is either good or bad, imo. THey are either dead and he is off the table, or the silence around him is a good thing. Oh well...

Yep... I've never been a fan of his actually. I really hope he isn't our target.

Thank God. Maybe this will turn us off to him.

2 Things I will admit are that I was willing to trade Batum for Wallace. And I would have taken RJ if we got Sessions along with him (like i said).

 any PG that might come in and take away Sergio's 10mpg is the devil!

I liked this:

But in the end it was largely a story of matchups, and the Bucks came up on the short end of nearly all of them. The Bucks sent their two best defenders at Brandon Roy all night but the Blazers' stud methodically broke down Luc Mbah a Moute and Keith Bogans, scoring 30 on 19 shots along with eight boards and seven dimes. It's not that the defense was bad, but Roy was simply better.

Oh, in KP I trust! :)

Liked this too:

If you're wondering what a good role player looks like, how about Portland's number ten. Przybilla took just one shot (and made it) in 37 minutes, but it was his 14 boards, two blocks, and a number of other alters that made him so valuable on a night when Greg Oden spent 40 minutes sitting on the bench with foul trouble.
