I'll say it again. For probably the 100th time. This team will never win a cup until Lafreniere and Kakko are on the first pp unit. It looks like Kakko is developing some chemistry with Kreider and Zibanejad. The problem is Panarin. He's a pain in the ass to play with. Ideally if you could trade Panarin for Kane, move Lafreniere to left wing the team would be better IMO.

Trouba is embarrassing himself as a captain. It's time he started hitting and stop fucking up on defense. I agree, Blais has looked poor to start the season. However, his game is playoff type of hockey. So, we'll see but you have to make the playoffs. Right now this team isn't looking too good. Drury had a putrid off-season. Not bringing back Motte was beyond moronic. Playoff teams need size which is why NJ will have no playoff success because they are small with no physical players. However, you also need some speed. Our 4th line blows. They also should have brought Vatrano back. This team couldn't hit the broad side of a barn shoot wise. Vatrano was a nice fit. They would have been much better off if they dealt Blais and Kravtsov, not signed Halak and used that money to sign Vatrano to the contract he got from the Ducks. I'm quite sure he would have stayed.

I am big supporter of both Laf and Kakko but they need to start consistently producing some points at this point. They were drafted at number one and number 2 for a reason to come in and make a difference right away. It’s not Chytil who was drafted as a project and everyone knew it would take some time for him to develop.

How many times do you have to be fucking told that the top scorers get a lot of their points on the power-play. Kakko has been dominating with puck control all year. Wake up dude. As far as Lafreniere goes he makes lots of passes that are great but Panarin just skates in fucking circles all game. Which is why he sucks in the playoffs. You keep sucking veteran dick every game, you’re not getting it.

Btw..Panarin gets a lot of points 5 on 5. Go look at his stats. Go look at McDavid, Mathews, MacKinon. These guys dominate five on five. They don’t just rely on the pp for their points. You can’t rely only on pp to get a lot of your points. If Laf and Kakko will be relying on the pp to get a lot of their points then it’s bad news for us. Kakko has been dominant at times this year and has looked good but he still doesn’t shoot enough 5 on 5. Laf has also missed a lot of chances where he should put those chances away.

If you took Zibanejad, Kreider or Panarin off the power play they would almost never look like they were dominating a team. Fact. Kakko has been much more dominant at even strength than any of those three players this year. You’re one of the few people that doesn’t seem to realize it.

Despite Kakko having some chemistry on the Zibanejad line I actually agree with senile Brooks that they should move him to the Panarin line. Then move Lafreniere to left wing on the Zibanejad line and tell Kreider to move over to the right. I really don’t give a shit if he likes it because he’s basically useless at even strength.

I hate to weigh in on this subject because its been beaten to death here but, the Rangers have to start changing things up and there are several reasons for it.
First and foremost....they are entirely too predictable. Despite all the skill they have their game is very predictable and that's partly why they haven't been playing well. Teams are getting way better at defending against them and counter attacking when our D get too aggressive. Also, Shesterkin is regressing which is to be expected considering how out-of-this-world he was last year. Can't expect him to be that great all the time.
Second, Kakko and Lafreniere are nowhere close to where everyone in the hockey world expected them to be at this point in their careers. I couldn't help but think, "Fuck, why could those two be like Robertson" when they were playing against Dallas. Granted he put up something like 40 goals last year and he is a few years older than them but for where the Rangers drafted these two they better turn into, at worst 30 goals a year players.
Last, the vets are going to start declining at some point...Zibanejad is 29, Kreider and Panarin are 31. They aren't old by any stretch but they aren't going to play at this level forever. The young guys need to be closing the gap so they can step up when the day finally comes.
There isn't much Gallant needs to do differently. Both of them play on the top 2 lines but, at this point at least one of them needs to be on the PP with Zibanejad and Panarin. If Gallant doesn't want to do that then for God's sake please have them get PP time with Fox. His contributions and effectiveness on the PP are huge and will make the 2nd PP a bigger threat than what they are with Jones/Trouba out there.

The reason Lafreniere and Kakko aren’t anywhere where they’re supposed to be is because this dumb fuck organization is using them like role players. Fact and it cannot be disputed. I repeat Lafreniere got less ice time than Kevin fucking Rooney last year. Go look up the first and second overall forward picks for the past 10 years. They all played 17 minutes a night and got significant power-play time as rookies. Only this stupid motherfucker organization doesn’t get it. Young players that are forwards with elite skills develop a lot that on the powerplay. Fact and it cannot be disputed.

By the way Robertson played 16 1/2 minutes as a rookie and had 6 powerplay points. His second year he played over 18 minutes and had 21 power-play points. Again we have fans that are so delusional they think that other young forwards are actually putting up points without playing on the first PowerPlay unit and getting 18 minutes ice time. It is absolute bullshit. This dumb fuck organization is so stupid that they take young, elite talent at forward who’ve been playing a ton their entire careers as well as getting a ton of PP time and then all of a sudden want them to be role players. How anybody cannot understand how freaking stupid that is is beyond me.
