I felt like Stauskus did a bad job on defense in the run the celtics made, left shooters on the wing open a few times. Tatum made some really tough shots, but a lot of the open looks they had were bad rotations by Stauskus.
That was a bit tongue-in-cheek, but in going back and reviewing, Aminu left MorrisTatum on several of their '3's and didn't get to them in transition on a couple more. They combined to go 8-15. Stauskas was out there for a couple of them but didn't see him matched up with those two very often and on top of that, he only played 13 minutes the entire game so his chances to leave someone wide-open were somewhat limited. Layman also left Tatum open on one when he was late rotating out after a switch.
I think over time layman could be the baller Hayward is in Boston. He was featured in SLC. I now he's been out for a year but I wasn't that impressed with his D.
The Blazers will face the Lakers next with Tyson Chandler and on a 3 game winning streak. We all know this blazers team after beating a top 5 team and lay an egg the next game.
This was one of those games when I am grateful it is not gymnastics or diving where they award style points. Just need one more than the other guys. At year's end when we count Blazers wins, no one will remember if it was pretty or ugly.
Come on, we’ve played one more home game than the Warriors and Nuggets, and that’s about to get reversed in a big way with this upcoming “Where in the World are the Portland Trail Blazers?” road trip.
