Should Portland fans finally stop booing LaMarcus?

This team is stuck in a different era. That's the problem. GS basically gave this league the blue print as to where it was headed, and most teams adjusted to a standard.

Except Portland.

We're still stuck in old, slow, traditional iso basketball. And that's not where the league is anymore. It has changed so much in the past 5 to 6 years, and the Blazers organization never adjusted to it.

That's the problem. And I see no end to it any time soon, unless Allen gets serious, cleans house, and brings in some proper people like GS did, who can build this team in such a way as to compete with the big teams. And one which is in with the current times of how basketball is played today, instead of 10 years ago.

I don't get it. Allen built a monster team in Seattle with the Seahawks, and as much as I hate that team, I have to give that FO credit where due: they've been contenders almost every year since Wilson was drafted. Allen also found the right GM in John Schneider, who put the proper DC in place, and drafted an amazing Defense. Schneider also manages to find gold in the draft almost year after year.

....why not Portland? Why is Allen lagging on his basketball team? What the hell is wrong with him? He sits on the sidelines almost every home game....surely he HAS to see what's wrong here.

I don't get it. I don't understand how you can be so successful with one sports team, yet be an absolute failure with another. I don't get that.

I understand they're two different sports, but if you built such a dominate football team, how can you fail at building a dominate basketball team? What the fuck?

Fix this shit, Paul! You're wasting Dame!

Dame should go in his Office and say "change something or trade me"

Well, I'm taking a couple weeks off of the Blazers. Going to a show on Friday and traveling on Saturday. Busy with the family after Christmas. I can't believe we lost that game. I didn't think 7-9 was possible.
Taking time off from the team is what a true fan does. Good for you.

It's funny that this person has called me out for not being a "true fan"

Good damn, more ridiculousness from you. And you'd been better lately. Disappointing.

Taking a break is ridiculous. Watching the team you love, and being annoyed by "fans" that need a break because the team is performing EXACTLY HOW THEY ARE BUILT, is sane

This team is built to be in the bottom third of the league offensively? This team is built to be dead last in the league in assists? This team is built to have prior-year starters become suddenly ineffectual?

I don't think anyone predicted this team to do any of those things going into this year, and these are the things that are frustrating fans more than anything else. Saying people are upset "because the team is performing exactly how they are built" is more than just a little disingenuous.

I guess the positive side is that we have been really close in a lot of these losses. Just some small changes should make us a lot better. I'm not sure what those changes would be right now. I don't think a coaching change in the middle of the season helps; but I would be keeping my eye out for a new one. It seems that just practicing a few things like passing over the top and certain guys having trouble finishing around the basket. Getting a couple guys to slow down their game a little and a couple others to speed it up? I don't know, but like I say we just need a little boost.

What’s funny is I already know what’s going to happen if Dame has to miss games. The only change we will see besides Napier starting is Connaughton getting 30 minutes.

But anyone with a brain would start Collins or Vonleh, move Aminu to SF, and bench Turner.

Lmao. These fans are likely frustrated because the team is built so badly. Because Stotts is a bad coach, Olshey is a bad GM, the Blazers have trended towards corporate because McGowan is greedy, the commentating crew isn't the same, and yet the team is competitive enough to make close losses heartbreaking. If you're not upset or frustrated by losses like last night, then you're the one who isn't a true fan.

Honestly, if Dame misses time this should be our lineup:

Napier 33 / Baldwin 15
McCollum 36 / Connaughton 12
Aminu 36 / Turner 12
Collins 28 / Vonleh 15 / Davis 5
Nurkic 32 / Davis 16

We got destroyed on the boards. And Stotts still went with small ball.
well, you people always complain about how Stotts always adjust to other teams, now he didnt and its still not good
shame on you all

Yup. Just like your family that hosts you for the holidays.

Holy shit did I miss this BURN??? I just pictured you saying this in your laid back tone.

LOL. Turner going from Starter to 12 mins? That might be the lineup you want but we both know Stotts...

As a Blazer fan of 40 years....this is truly a rookie post...we deal with losses and move on
