With a record of 21-14, this is the Blazers' best start through 35 games since LMA was here aka in the last 6 years. And all this during yet another injury-plagued season.

There's a chance CJ or Nurk may be back this game. That's exciting, as long as we're not rushing them back.

A week out; is this the furthest ahead for a Darkwebs game thread?

you must collect interest
I imagine the injury report and possibly the starting lineup might have to be changed by game day but the OP looks fantastic.

If CJ is back and even in limited minutes can have the kind of impact that some in here think he will, even though we got beat down last time we played Phoenix, we could make this game really competitive. I know Stotts won't likely do this but if CJ only played the minutes off of the bench that Dame didn't, that would be a huge shot in the arm without ever having the disadvantages we get when the two play together. I've seen CJ shooting from a sitting position since the injury, working on his handle and off of one leg shooting too. Last night I saw him on the bench in a suit and he looks like he's in better shape (at least thinner) than when he started training camp. Hell, I think he'll have more days of practice between the time he got cleared until he played than he did in camp before the first preseason game.

The funny thing is, with the way Gary has been shooting and (fuck the numbers) competing on the defensive end. I don't think getting CJ back will have as big of an impact on the starting unit as getting Nurk back will, whenever that happens. I know he won't get as many boards as Enes but if he comes in with a Beast mindset ready to finish strong on offense, we have two really hard working forwards that are capable of getting us a lot of second chances on offense and Nurk occupies more attention from opposing teams than Enes does on both ends.

With overall rotation and given what most think, CJ's comeback will make a huge impact and I'm sure the consensus is that it will be bigger than Nurk's (I know that the minutes he takes from Ant when Dame sits will be a lot immeasurably more productive). I just think what Nurk does will make Dame's life easier and having Kanter off the bench will make our rotation so so so much better.

This second half of the season is incredibly exciting even if it is a tough schedule. If we're healthy, this is the team that Olshey and Stotts wanted. With the way RoCo, DJ and Enes have played any mention of Zach's absence is overblown, if everyone outside of Zach can stay healthy enough to play. We should be able to beat any team in a seven game, if Olshey is right. I hope he is and we make the most serious run at a championship since 1999 when we were for all intents and purposes one Lakers loss away from blowing the doors off of the Pacers and winning it all. Go Blazers!!! Let's get this thing done in the second half and shut me up about getting rid of Olshey, Stotts and CJ.

Hood and Ant combined for 26 minutes last night. Sounds about the perfect amount of Minutes for CJ if he is back to work his way in. then as restrictions are reduced you can then reduce Dame and Trent's minutes. Hopefully Hood and Ant join Elleby in the cheer section.

I am pretty Zach won't be back this year and if he was the rotation would be set and if the rotation was playing well you just don't disturb something to place one guy in. Even though I big fan Zach that wouldn't make sense. I think CJ will be before Nurk and notice when Nurk slapping the guys hand he wouldn't use the hand with broken wrist.

It must be really really bad if Zach is missing this year cause isn't this his contract year? Or did he get a little wink wink nudge nudge we bringing you back next year anyway from olshey?

Yes it's his contract year but who knows what Olshey thinks. But pass history he not going to try to look bad by trading in a draft by giving up two draft pick by picking. So if am predicting right that Zach will sign the Qualify offer and will be a promise a bigger contract in the future if he plays up to his potienal. I think he did that with Hood and Hood was similar situation has Zach is this year.

Sounds like you and I have the same thinking.

CJ just started contact drills Friday or Saturday so the Suns game might be a tad early but certainly possible.
I hadn't heard anything about Nurk being close to playing condition so that would be exciting news.

yeah! Make it happen and get back to me!

Nope. Not yet.

you are hereby now known as Deborah Downer until they return!

Nurk said yesterday that if he's not back by after all-star break, it will be just a few days after all-star break.

So his return seems imminent.

Also, what the hell is going on with Harry? He's been out for weeks with a calf strain and we've heard zero updates.

I'm sorry, I'd convinced myself CJ would be playing tomorrow and I really don't want to be disappointed - they should rethink this.
