Asik out with knee issues? Is it too late to trade oden for him? Can we add Roy's amnesty contract in for salary match?

The numbers that matter

The Rockets are 1-1 on Thursday

They score 103.2 ppg and give up 102.3 ppg on Thursday (easily their closest point differential for any day)

With 2 days rest they are 2-0

Houston is 3-2 on the first game of back to backs

Houston is 4-1 vs the Northwest division

Portland on the other hand

Portland has not played a Thursday game yet

Portland is only 1-1 on 2 days rest (easily their worst ratio)

Portland opponents are 0-4 vs the Blazers on first half of back to backs

Portland is 1-2 vs the Southwest division

Unfortunately I think we lose this one. Howard is too quick for Lopez and too strong for LaMarcus so we’ll have to double team him. When that happens they’ll find open shooters. If we somehow cover them Harden will have a field day with an out of position defense. Teams with athletic centers will really cause us problems throughout this year. Fortunately there are only a couple of them in the league.

It’s a big national game on TNT so I’d love to be wrong!

I don't have a good feeling about this, but let the homerism prevail!

I'm hoping they stay home on Howard and let him take anything but dunks. The trick is if Harden breaks down the guards and gets into the paint, and if Lopez leaves Howard to help. Let Howard get his points, but make the three point shooters take long twos.

They could have success mixing it up on Harden by covering him with Nic and Wes alternating.

The Moda Center should be rocking tonight since we've all had a few days to stew over the loss against Dallas - think we'll extract from revenge from game 4.

Did you not see we played Utah since sir?

Last time we played them Freeland was out and Howard shot an ungodly FT%. If the refs do their job correctly I think we got this one.

You just asked the refs to do something they have never done in Portland.

And I'll bet most people dont know that it starts at 7:30 so they'll show up at 7:00 and the Moda Center will look full on TV at the start of the game for a change.

I want the new Lopez to completely frustrate Howard. Sucker Houston to have to rely only on Harden the entire game. Then our wings can suffocate the shit out of him in the 4th:

I did (and few things please me more than seeing all those green seats as Jazz fans leave early because we've kicked their ass) - but being on the road, it's just not the same.

Hey Darkwebs: Can you add Crabbe's portrait to our bench lineup so Stotts knows he can play him?

I really want to see a monster game from T. Rob. He was a major "non-factor" the last game.
