It would be a great get. He can play SF and PF and is one of the best 1-on-1 defenders in the league.

Cleveland's been talking to Bobcats for several weeks on a Wallace deal, too. As one GM has said, "Blazers have been anxious...determined.
 
If the asking price is Przy + filler like some were suggesting, then I'd probably do it.

Bringing Wallace off the bench at PF would really help the Blazers' depth. Roy, Rudy, & Wallace would put an end to the scoring droughts the second unit often suffers.

I will say one thing that we all have confirmed....

Blazers LOVE Harris and Wallace. For 2-3 years they have been after these guys. Those names and blazer trades are like charlie sheen and porn stars.

Yep. Bring him off the bench at the 3 and 4... give him lots of minutes (with Aldridge playing the 5 at times). He'd be a great get.

It seems to me that many people have failed to recognize we have been starting Dante Cunningham at center lately. Nick and Wallace could be on the court at the same time.

Batum goes straight to the bench IMHO. Crash/Matthews/LMA/Camby (if still around) is a formidable defensive and fasbreak rotation.

I fail to see how Wallace does not DRASTICALLY help the Blazers RIGHT NOW! The guy went to the line last night like 15 times

Adrian Wojnarowski, who is right a whole lot more often than he's wrong, has tweeted that Portland is getting close to a deal for Charlotte small forward Gerald Wallace.

But why? I mean, the guy has a long injury history, including a couple of concussions, I believe. He's a great hustle guy but yet another player who doesn't shoot well from long range. Aren't there enough poor three-point shooters on this team already?

I like him a lot as a player, when he's healthy. But I don't like him so much for this team. And I wouldn't give up Nic Batum for him. And I wouldn't bring him to a team that already had Nic Batum.

So would this open the way for Batum to be sent elsewhere? I might be onboard for something like that.

im sorry but dwight is retarded and im sure most everyone else thinks so too.... if we have crash coming off the bench taking 3/4 minutes and aldridge sliding to the 5 there will be enough minutes for crash easy. and you could ease camby into coming back if you needed to as well. i dont think dwight quite gets what the blazers would be getting and why. it all depends on who we give up, which if its pryz + filler (rudy, babbit, williams, cunningham?) im all for it

I love Wallace, but not at the expense of Nic !
