Thanks, Sly...and everyone!
Kind of a rough night last night. My temp went up to 102.5, so my wife said, that's it and took me to the hospital. They took all my vitals, etc. Following that, the really nice ER doc told us that the #1 most significant determiner they go by is the blood oxygen test. You know, that little device that clips on the end of your index finger. Mine read a constant 95-96, so he was pleased with that. We have one of those devices here at home. He told us if the reading ever dips into the 80's and stays that way, then get my butt back in there and I'd be admitted and put on oxygen. Anyway, I was in there for all of about an hour. No harm, no foul. They said the high temperature was not to worry and to treat that with alternating Advil and Tylenol. That was around midnight. Came home and went to bed. Cold sweats all night, but it appears the fever broke. I'm down to 97.9 this morning. Feeling MUCH better, which is a little weird because they really didn't don anything at the hospital other than give us some reassurances. Anyway, just gonna take care here over the coming weeks. My wife got tested yesterday, and we should know her results sometime today. Meanwhile, we're practicing the distancing in our home as much as possible, and masks are being worn.
Again, thanks so much, everyone! You guys are the best! I don't care WHAT MARIS says!!
Oh, and I quit wearing a gaiter weeks ago. Those things are worthless.
