Here's a sick one he threw down on us:

i hope he dunks the ball and breaks arena

And people in the other thread were calling this a bad deal? C'mon Collins can't touch this guy.

I really hate the last one, because I still remember that game. We were losing by like 40.

Man, I have this slim, sick hope that in some bizzaro world type of thing where Gasol turns into a bust in LA and Swift explodes with the Nets. I wouldn't know how to react to something like that.

The Lakers get Gasol and we get Stromile Swift.

I feel cheated.

Wow--look at him go. He can dunk so he must be a really good player. I can't wait for the invasion of all the Stromile Swift fans on the message boards. Do you think there are more Vince Carter fans or Stromile Swift fans?

We would have had to give up
Boki, Antione, Mags, Mwill and two firsts.

We gave up Collins.

You get what you pay for.

You wouldn't have done that deal?

I love this trade it gets rid of happy go lucky Jason Collins who averages like 10pts a year and brings in a high flying energy guy in Swift. Thats exactly what we needed was someone to come in and bring energy onto the court. I actually think him "badass" attitude and everything is a positive for us we need someone whos not afraid to say something on and off the court. Last time I checked the last time we had a badass highflying energy guy we went to 2 finals.

he brings that energy we need but i dont know how he is going to adjust to being in the nj/nyc area. it can be very bad for some people.

He wouldn't have put us over the top anyway...so no. I'm done with big contracts and no bench. I want young players with upisde, low contracts and a deep roster.

cant wait for him to do the birdman thing after every dunk

omg this guys is soooo nasty, anyone notice he can slam really hard with both hands??

Swift is now 28-29....I don't think he'll be as athletic as he used to be for many more years...I guess he is better than keeping Collins, but the Nets aren't getting a lot in return for Collins.

he still getting up there & Jason Collins who

I love the attitude Swift brings to the table hopefully he will have an impact on Williams and Boone b/c they are still not comfortable in the post. When Williams gets it he immediately put its on the floor and does some weird hook shot thing and Boone just kicks it out or kinda hooks it. They need to learn how to go strong and I think Swift might be able to show em how. There have been times when Williams attempts to go strong but he ends up missing the dunk.

Stromile Swift is a two-trick, pony, guys. He blocks shots, and dunks. He's an NBA Street player.

Get excited all you want, but I really doubt this'll lead to many more wins.

(BTW, that dunk on Yao is one of the sickest dunks ever)

I remember similar threads created by Rockets fans a couple seasons ago. I kind of hope I'm wrong this time, because I'm tired of watching this dude waste his talent. But I really doubt it'll work out that well.

Swift reminds me more of Kenyon than Sean does for some reason. Hopefully he can play half of what Kenyon did.

Except Kenyon has some understanding of how to play basketball. Stro has the understanding of how to dunk a basketball and that's about it.

Swift isn't really a Frank kind of player. I think there's a better chance of seeing more Magloire now than seeing a lot of The Stro Show.

Energy. When Swift and Kenyon dunk, they go crazy after the dunk. When Sean dunks, he runs back down the floor. Which is a good thing, most of the time. But when the team is down, especially at home, and someone makes a dunk, it's nice to see energy to get the fans back into the game like Kenyon did and Swift hopefully will.

Your both right...Stro still might be a building block to appease Kidd. I think he will like all the positives that Stro brings...the blocks always energize this team and honestly as good a Boone and Sean look dunking Stro is better at it and will get the fans involved with his enthusiasm. He definately will help energy-wise. Realistically he won't solve any problems...but he could help the team.

I hope I'm wrong, but I have a really bad feeling about this. In my mind, Swift has essentially NO chance to play under Coach Frank, at least until next season. He doesn't know the plays, he doesn't really play defense, and by all accounts he's an idiot and has little chance of understanding Frank's unnecessarily complex "plays" and "defensive schemes." The most exercise he'll get is racing Magloire to the bench to be be the one to avoid the seat on the end.

Will he be a malcontent? I think there is a pretty good chance of this.

Again, I hope I'm wrong. regqardless, the last thing the nets need right now is another guy who can't shoot the ball outside of eight feet.

No, no, no! Hold up now!! He knows how to block shots, too!

I'm with you 100% on all of that. Except that in my mind, Swift has no chance to play under Frank at all.

Remember Bernard Robinson? Wasn't he dumb as a rock..? Well, he was probably smarter than Swift.
