GM Recalls 83,600 Trucks, SUVs for Faulty Ignition Switch

Just when you thought GM’s messy ignition switch recall crisis was the story of 2014, we start off 2015 with another chapter of the ongoing saga. GM announced that through its internal investigation and technical analysis processes, it will institute another ignition-related recall to address concerns of sticking ignition locks in some of its large SUVs and pickups. There are also new recalls for possibly fracturing rear axles and leaking fuel tanks in certain full-size GM pickups. Meanwhile, Ford has issued recalls for the Escape and Lincoln MKC crossovers.
