<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>MIAMI -- About all those magnanimous trade proposals that all those GMs are making to Rod Thorn regarding Jason Kidd:

"They're going down," the Nets president admitted last night, with a trace of relief and derision.

Because ... why? Have they finally caught on that it's futile to try to steal the Nets point guard?

"Yeah, you could say that," Thorn replied with a laugh.

Are the calls picking up with regard to any of his other players?

"One or two," Thorn said.

Though Thorn refused to name names, it is widely assumed the most sought-after Net is Sean Williams.</div>

Also mentions Jason Collins going the way of A-Train

If Sean leaves, I'm going with him!

Seriously, if Sean gets traded and we don't get Amare or Dwight (somehow; or someone as exciting), I'm not watching this team the rest of the year.

If Sean leaves my favorite players in the NBA will be ex-Nets, and I'll be afraid to love again.

Bargnani and Delfino for Sean Williams. Every Raptor fan would hate it, but I would love it.

Don't trade him. Every team had a chance in the draft and let him go. Give them the finger.

Eww. Thorn better not even think of moving Sean Williams...no matter what the deal is. I can't imagine him playing for someone else.

Don't worry, Thorn would never trade one his players when he could get the most for him.

There is a bright side to Sean becoming the fans favorite. It makes it easier to enter into a rebuilding mode.

Trade Kidd, Vince and RJ and put all of the marketing dollars into Sean's dunks

Nets don't need a PF that chucks 3's and can't rebound or play defense.

I know there are players out there that are better now, but specifically who that would be available now could we get that is worth more or at least equal value than Sean Williams?

Bargnani for Williams? Why would the Nets ever accept that?

Sean williams was expected to be a big suprise since the end of training camp and as talented as he is its no surprise the rookie is gaining so much interest if the nets were to trade him it wouldnt affect them now but this kid is the future of the nets and in the long run if he leaves once JKidd etires and Richard jefferson and VC are done this franchise cold be Even more trouble then now.

Welcome to S2, Lugtug! If you need anything, PM me and lemme know.

And I agree completely. Don't trade Sean...He will surely be an important part of the future.

I guess GMs are under the assumption we want to make one big deal to get us over the hump rather than breaking up the big three.

no way sean is being traded unless if a dominant big man comes back. amare/howard. since we know those two teams wont trade those guys we know sean isnt going anywhere. if we decide to make a trade, it will either be to get younger by moving kidd and carter or by trying to get a legit big man by using rj or others.

out of our entire roster i really think sean is the only untouchable. of course you can always make a case to trade him by getting something bigger in return, but teams are just going to try and steal him now. gotta keep sean locked up for brooklyn and beyond

nobody is untouchable...at least nobody currently on the Nets roster.

Hm. True. Although Sean, RJ and Josh are probably as close as you could get to "untouchable".

I actually think Marcus Williams is the most untouchable otherwise this team would be featuring Jermaine Oneal right now but Thorn wouldn't let them answer, but definately Sean and Josh are close to the top of the list...

RJ on the other hand I think is really available as his numbers are better than ever and he is the youngest of the big three.

I'm also officially on the trade Kidd bandwagon...we could use the depth we'd get from the young players.

Sean will not be traded unless we get a big (and I mean big) time talent in return.

And remember, Thorn never specifically said himself that all these "calls" were for Sean. Until it comes from his mouth, don't assume that people are asking about Sean (although there are most likely teams out there interested in him, no doubt. Not saying no one's inquiring, because they most likely are; just don't believe it 100% until Thorn says it himself).

I'd say it's a reasonable assumption. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

Jason Kidd is in a similar position Kobe was in last year with the decision to trade Bynum for immediate help or stand pat.

hmmmmmm GM's must think Thorn is in a tough place. They feel with the current situation with the Nets and Kidd that he has to make a quick change.

Similar to what Boston did trading young talent for instant help. Funny thing is as Jarkid has said Sean Williams is the Nets answer to a big man. The thing is he is a rookie. So he might be a few years from helping them but not too far.

Thorn is going to have an interesting year. He is not a fool and sees the potential Williams has but he knows his team needs big changes. If Kidd is traded we have enough pieces to build for the future and whatever kidd brings back will help.

Trading Williams does not mean the Nets problems will be fix

Right now even Williams for Shaq will not be a good trade for the Nets. Come on, Nets are on the brink of rebuilding (if not this season, than the next one for sure) and trading their best prospect makes absolutely no sense. I hope Thorn is not retarded.

For the sake of argument, would you approve SWAT being traded if the Nets won a title?

Hmmmmmm I would say yes and no. Yes we would finally achieve the goal we set out but then what if SWAT turns into Amare type player? Players who look to block and love to get physical in the paint or hard to find.

Look at the Heat everything was good in 2006 but now not so good.

To be honest I am kind of looking forward to rebuilding. Young players watching them grow and develop. Sure the wins might not come but it's not like they're now

hm, good question. I'm saying yes. I would waver if Kidd had previously won a title.
