But he says he can't figure out the negativity here, mostly within the media, about the upcoming draft, free agency and the impending coaching search, which he assures will be "exhaustive."

He's been on the job all of 10 days and he says he feels like the media and some of the fan base want him to already have hired a coach, decided who he is going to draft with the Nos. 6 and 11 overall picks, and chart a course for free agency.

Here's looking at you, Crapanzo!

Good read.
Quick didnt mention Lowry as an option. Dumb ass! :devilwink:
I found it interesting that there was no mention of Nolan Smith. But that's probably because of Quick's speculation, not based on anything Olshey said.

His scenario of Gordon and Kaman for the picks made me throw up in my mouth a little bit

Nevermind the fact that it's not even a possibility, anyways, seeing as how they're both currently free agents. Then again, Quick never lets facts get in the way of his "reporting."

ORLY?

"Clearly point guard is a need, and it is going to be addressed,"

It's not direct, but the implication is pretty clear.

Logistics?

Hmmm. Tough one

Renounce, Hickson, and all other FA's other than Batum, stretch Williams, and we will have around 18 million in cap space. . So, assuming Gordon will cost around 14? and Kaman around 10? that is 24 million. To make it work we would need to simply send Wes back in the deal also.

Logistics, bitches

I think the more difficult logistics is N.O. telling us hey, pick Waiters and Henson for us at 6 and 11, and so we do, thinking we have a S&T available, and then Kaman signs with Miami, and Gordon maxes out with Indy, and we have 2 picks we didn't want.

Precisely!

This would all have to be worked out on a wink, wink beforehand, of course

A wink wink on two free agent signings to be traded. Sure the league won't be suspicious of that
