Anybody going to see it this weekend? :dunno: I wanna see this for sureIt's gonna be hot

Not this weekend, but I'm planning on it. I thought the first two were pretty good, the last one was kind of corny though, so I hope this is better.

I don't think the last one was that corny but definitely not as good as the first SpidermanThis one looks like they came out REALLY STRONG though and wanna leave a lasting impression..I'm not sure if this is the final Spidey though

That would suck if 3 is the last. The trailer looks so cool. I'm definitely going to see it, maybe not right away though.

They said they're trying to make six Spiderman movies but the cast has not agreed yet. I'll see it eventually but this one does not seem as interesting as I want it to be. I do want to see what happens between Spidey and Green Goblin's son.

More than likely on the end of it's run in theaters. I'm not trying to catch one of these crowds. Also, I can only hope this is the last Spider-Man. These actors have careers, they are not trying to make Spider-Man the rest of their lives(word Chris Tucker). It gets old for them and the franchise also loses it's muster. Comic book sequels have the formula for bigger, and after a while that in itself blows up in the studios face. Ex. Batman series, X-Men : The Last Stand.Oh and Sam Raimi needs to move on to other things. Like a return to horror. He's too talented to be doing the same stuff.

It looks like it'll be pretty so I'll go see it. I'll probably see it in the 2nd or 3rd week out.

<span style="font-family:Arial">I'm going with a group of friends to see this over the weekend. (If it's not too packed ) I'm pretty excited about this film, the $258 million budget speaks volumes for how this movie will turn out. I loved the first two, this one looks like the best of the trilogy.</span>

Just because it has a large budget, doesn't mean it will be great. Van Helsing anyone? I'm more for practical effects than CGI. I think Spider-Man is CGI madness at times.</span>

What about Napolean Dynamite? Mad nice movie, like 40 million dollar budget though.

Ugh, I hate the cast's for these Spiderman movies, what a bunch of uninteresting wussies. They have that little douche-bag playing Spiderman....Comic-book movies are not my thing.

Also, didn't you like 300?

It looks awesome. I am a huge fan of the 1st 2 films, was a weekly viewer of the '90's cartoon, and do have a few of the comic books. The only thing I hate about this movie is they made Venom as big as Spider-Man, and he has a high whine to his voice when he becomes Venom. Other than that, the movie looks awesome.

I'll probably go see it in a couple weeks when Shrek and/or POTC 3 are also in theaters to avoid the over packed screen room.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (808Hornetsfan @ Apr 30 2007, 07:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>They said they're trying to make six Spiderman movies but the cast has not agreed yet. As of now McGuire is the only one of the key names who has said he/she might come back as Dunce err I mean Dunst has said she doesn't want to stick around and Raimi is still undecided.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Justice @ May 2 2007, 01:08 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>shut up.Venom is the only serious rival to Spider-Man.</div>In the movie, Harry and Sandman have much bigger roles. Brock doesn't turn into Venom until they are well into the 2nd half of the film. Raimi isn't a fan of Venom, and he was sort of something they just threw in there to please all the Venom fans (which is stupid since there are more Venom fans out there than any other villain).

Thanks, I do too.

Umm, no. You said venom is the only serious rival to Spider-Man, and that's not true. In this movie he gets the smallest part of any of the 3 villains, and from everything I've heard/seen, Sandman gives him every bit as much trouble.

"Venom is the only serious rival to Spider-Man."In the comics he is not the only serious rival to Spider-Man, and in this movie he is getting a small part and doesn't get the chance to fu*k Peter's life up like in the comics or cartoon (or for that matter, like Doc Ock did in SM2).

Chiming in on Venom. Venom was definately a creation that gained popularity through the cartoon and him being in this film is to please the fanboys of Venom. If they wanted to do the storyline right, should have saved for a possible 4th but that is not set in stone. It's kind of like this Gwen Stacy add. They did her climatic scene from the comics already in the first movie with Mary Jane. Kind of makes her pointless to be honest and from what I read reviews wise, she is. Least with Venom, albeit a small part is sensible in being added. Eddie Brock does have a sizable role. Now back to Nitro/Justice program.

But, outside of for the fanboys, I do see a reaosn for Venom in this movie. IMO, GG2 (or whatever they refer to him as) and Sandman can't carry the movie like the previous 2 villains could. Unfortunately if Venom is not brought back for a future movie, the next installments will have a problem with finding a single villain or 2 to carry the movie. Kingpin is probably the next best villain, but he was dealt with in Daredevil.Gwen Stacey IS pointless...she is not a major character who the hardcore fans really want to see, and it just adds even more plot to a PACKED movie storyline-wise.

Doc Ock is pretty damn good, too, as is Green Goblin... but SANDMAN? Regardless of fanboiz, he is the most interesting villain to me, especially since he isn't an outright villain. He sees himself as a good guy, in a way. (I agree that Kingpin would be another great villain for Spider-Man, or the Punisher (but we know that would be retarded because of experience)).When I was drinking, I read it as you saying that Venom should not be considered as important, but I suppose you were talking about size. The size thing is stupid since he can basically assume any shape.Obviously, I was exaggerating when I was talking about him being the only serious rival, but he is the most important rival (partly because Venom has an intimate knowledge of Spider-Man). He is like Joker to Batman, Lex to Superman, or Sabretooth to Wolverine. And yeah, the point is that they have F*cked up the Spider-Man movie series pretty good, but they can redeem it by making Venom awesome in this one. I don't particularly care what Raimi or any other dickhead filmmaker thinks or what they do in the movie. I am telling you how it should be partly based on the comics/cartoons and partly based on common sense.
