2008 NBA Draft tickets go on-sale at the Madison Square Garden box office at 11 a.m. Thursday. With the Knicks and Nets in the lottery, there will be a long line. Get there early, like 10 a.m. or earlier. Tickets are $15 for reserved seats.

Doors open at 6:45. Bulls on the board at 7:20.

will you be going? I do an internship all the way out in Oakland (ouch! ) and I live in Bayonne, I can't see myself making it, unfortuantly. I've always wanted to go to one of these and this year would be the most exciting in recent years for us Nets fans.

Went in 2001. It is a wild scene. Not going again. Once was enough.

I went in 2001. It was wild. I got a bit ripped and started heckling Stern. They asked me to stop. I apologized. Then I started heckling Granik. They told me I would have to cease or they would remove me. I said Stern is like a Mob boss, I could understand the 1st round, but you are gonna kick me out in round 2 ....for Granik!?!?!?!
They laughed.
I then politely asked them to escort me out. They said, no, you're cool as long as you keep it down. I said: "No, seriously. I want you to kick me out. Who gets to say that they got kicked out of the NBA Draft?" Security Obliged, we shared a smoke at the exit, and we wished the Knicks and Nets respective luck. It's a fond memory.

On that note, with two picks, one a lottery, a deep draft, and trade possibilities abundant....this one could top 2001.

I would go just to heckle Stephen A. Smith.

JRon, I've heard that exact story somewhere else, I think it may have been BBF. Have you posted there before?

Yes, folks love hassling Stephen A...especially when he's eating.

And yes, #1, that was me. But involvement there at BBF is minimal(even this week surprisingly), and frankly the leadership there is rather 'prickly' towards me.

Thought so. Welcome to S2! A lot of us posted at BBF, and are now here full time. I'm mynetsforlife over there.

Thanks for the welcome...looked like a fun week to start. Can't wait for draft night.

Unfortunatley, I'm missing draft night
, and I probably won't know the results for 4 weeks.

Apparently they're restricting Stephen A. to just player interviews this year.

Why 4 weeks? Living in a tent somewhere?

Quite frankly, that's disrespectful!

I don't mind, really. I don't expect too much down time.

internet cafes are everywhere.

BTW, I would LOVE pics of Dubai--it is a running joke with my kids that they want to go there. Anything interesting that would inpress a five and two year old would be great--camels, the desert, etc.

I rode a camel on the Great Wall of China. Disgusting creatures.

Tried to go last year. Didn't make it. Not sure if I'll try again this year.

And lining up at 10AM won't get you tickets. Try 7 or 8, maybe earlier.

not really sure what the fascination with going there is. probably 100x better just watching it on TV.

I plan to go this year and hope to have a similar story. Although this is all contingent on me getting tickets, but I know someone with MSG connections so we'll see. If not, I've already RSVP'ed to the Nets party at Brooklyn Brewery

Yeah, same! Welcome over to S2 JRon! What name did you used to go by?

It's a total scream. I loved it...once.

Didn't we leave at like 8:00 last year?

We waited on line for what seamed like for ever and they ended up selling out right before us, it sucked. I think I'd rather watch on TV anyway.

I can totally see it being fun to go...once.

I don't plan on taking any time on the computer, though since we're staying with family in Tanzania and Dubai, I can get internet access if I really want to. The problem isn't access, it's time.
I'll see what I can do. Once we touch down in Dubai, we're going on a desert safari thing, so I should be able to get good pictures there. My dad is a photographer and will be bringing all of his equipment. I'll obviously take pictures of the technology too.

The two safaris in Tanzania should be really cool too (one by the Ngorongoro Crater, one in the Serengeti).

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Kid Chocolate @ Jun 23 2008, 12:38 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I rode a camel on the Great Wall of China. Disgusting creatures.</div>

Camels are freaking awesome. I rode one while in India, good fun. Riding elephants is more fun, though (and makes me want to shit myself a bit less. Going down tiny stairs in a camel is pretty scary).

I tried going last year and got their around 10am and the line was around MSG. One of the officers told us people started lining up at 6am. I plan on going on Thursday and we are leaving Newark,NJ at 5am to get their by 6 or so. And with Chicago having the number 1 pick, im sure fans that live in the tri-state area along with people coming from Chicago will show up so. I'm sure its going to be a wild scene. Hopefully we get tickets, ive been planning this for awhile.

That's an awesome story. I'd love to do something like that.

Welcome to S2, JRon. If you have any questions or concerns, PM me!

I went once for work and was amazed. You must do the desert blasting on the dunes. It is very fun, especially with a group. Do your best to get the front passenger seat!

Let me also recommend the Ibn Batuttu mall's air balloon in the evening. You get to see the entire city landscape and if you ask the operator to take it to the highest altitude he's allowed to, you can see the Palm Islands and World Islands. Also, if you have extra money, you should reserve some dining at the Burj al Arab - the Asian restaurant (forget the name(. Best dining experience you'll ever have... if you like Asian cuisine. Plus you can only visit the hotel if you are a guest or have a reservation with one of the restaurants.

Oh and to stay on topic... ummm I cant go to the NBA draft unfortunately either. Although I would like to go to one just to experience it. Cant see why they just dont do what they used to do back in the day and hold it outside of NY and in some other NBA cities.
