Initially it seems the leader should be the best scorer, the stronger player. But Wes won't be demanding the ball to take the last shot. If he doesn't play favorites, then he should be making the right call.
 
Great! A leader doesn't have to be the best player, but needs to inspire others to be better and hold them accountable. I believe Wes can do that based off if his work ethic and intensity. Aldridge needs to step up as well if course, but there's nothing wrong with having a vocal leader like Wes.
 
I'd do it but I'm not around the team that much.
 
If a leader isn't your best player he at least needs to be your hardest worker. So while I suppose it's not ideal that a limited guy like Wes is taking lead role, there's not much doubting his commitment and that kind of professionalism can definitely rub off on some of these younger guys (hopefully).
