GOP 'cranks' Taking Over?

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0909/27015.html

Joe Wilson’s outburst Wednesday night earned more than a personal rebuke from the president and a dagger-eyed gasp from the speaker of the House; it drew winces from Republicans worried that their party is becoming known less for the power of its ideals and more for the pettiness of its vitriol.

“Neither party has an exclusive on wack jobs,” says Republican media consultant Mark McKinnon. “Unfortunately, right now the Democrats generally get defined by President Obama, and Republicans, who have no clear leadership, get defined by crackpots — and then they begin to define the Republican Party in the mind of the general public.”

Turn on the TV, and you see what he means.

joe wilson comes from a long, and proud lineage of clansmen. he made his forefathers very proud the other night and should be heralded as an american patriot. btw, he hails from south carolina where gov mark sanford has an unscrupulous record of service and where incest is a rite of passage.

Duh! The national media has been in bed with Obama since Day One, and they're going to do all they can to "expose" his political foes as "cranks." It's not hard to figure this stuff out, guys.

I suppose the 2 million people who marched on Washington today to protest the healthcare bill were also "cranks." Everybody at the Tea Parties is a "crank," and everybody who fears big government is a "crank," and everybody who thinks Obama is a socialist/marxist is a "crank." It's called demonizing your opponent to distract the public from the real issues.

Whereas painting a Hitler mustache on Obama, why, that's just free speech!

Well, since one side is clearly full of crackpots, the likelihood of living together peacefully is quite small. That said, civil war is the only way to go unless we can agree on a way of dividing the nation fairly.

Seems like the electoral vote in the most recent election would be a fair way to split it up.

I could get behind that.

Wouldn't it be cool to figure out a way to divide everything evenly so we all have equal access to natural resources and ports and shit and then see who wins after 20 years?

We could keep Vegas independent so people from both lands could mingle with the rest of the world. I think I just had a dream like Martin Luther King....

That would be an interesting experiment, but I don't see any reason to give the "New Confederacy" anything more than they've earned. And what they've earned is the south and the plains states. Take them and begone, I say.

When I go on some car websites the southerners talk about their guns and how all their boys are in the military. I don't know if that would be a good idea.

I happen to live in a Red State who enjoys all the tax dollars those liberal states shovel my way. Sure, we're rugged individualists (except when it comes to living with wolves) but if you expect us to pay for our highways, air force bases and farm subsidies on our own, well, that just isn't going to happen.
