Qualifier Maximo Gonzalez sprung a surprise in the first round of the Grand Prix Hassan II with a straight-sets win over Daniel Munoz de la Nava.
Gonzalez needed 72 minutes to ease to a 6-1 6-4 win over the world number 75 in Marrakech, the Argentine setting up a second round match with either Paul-Henri Mathieu or sixth seed Albert Ramos Vinolas.

Third-seeded Borna Coric beat eighth-seeded Jiri Vesely 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5) on Saturday to reach the Grand Prix Hassan II final, where he will bid for his first career title.
The 19-year-old Croat will take on Argentine Federico Delbonis, who eliminated Spaniard Albert Montanes 6-4, 6-3.
Fourth-seeded Federico Delbonis beat third-seeded Borna Coric 6-2, 6-4 on Sunday to clinch the clay-court Grand Prix Hassan II for his second career title.
