Trailers usually don't do anything for me except give away the plot. This one is just one small part of the film, but holy crap it got my heart going.

Yeah, this kind of reminds me of 127hours, without a happy ending.

Posted that last night right before going to bed. Ended up having a nightmare similar to in the movie. I only have a couple nightmares every year. Freaks me out to contemplate her fate.

It's a Hollywood Blockbuster. The big stars always make it. If she was a no-name actress named "Lieutenant Johnson" in the script, she'd be dead.

That's one of my wife's fears as well; drifting out in space with no way back.

It would be more realistic if it were US astronauts and a Russian space vehicle.

We don't have shuttles anymore.

I'm on the fence if I want to see this or not. What caught my eye is that this is supposed to start with a 17 minute shot. With CGI, I'm not sure what this really means, but it should be interesting.

I'm actually more excited for Europa Report. No floating in space that I know of, but similar feel of shit going bad when you're out there.

Anyone know the name of the Issiac Asimov story about floating out into the abyss?

Not Asimov, but "The 9 Billion Names of God" is a great read.

Thanks.

I found this if anyone is interested (I have not listened yet) Arthur C Clark's "The 9 Billion Names of God" audio version with some slides is available free on YouTube. Here is part 1

I've read every word that Clark wrote. Brilliant.
