Metal Up Your Ass. (I wish the record label hadn't made 'em change the name of the album... :) )
Ride the Lightning.
Master of Puppets.
... And Justice for All.

Good fucking stuff.

i remember when black album came out and everyone thought it was pussy assed, and then they proceeded to drop multiple loads on us, made me appreciate it a little more.....but it still sucked.

TBA is a fantastic *sounding* album, but the songs (with the exception of a few) are sub-par, for sure. But damn that album sounds awesome on a good stereo or pair of headphones.

yeah they had some queef master it bob rock i think.

I guess you have to be a fan?

you know how people make fun of hipsters for being condescending on music that "doesn't sound as good off their sophomore album". it's the same thing only they're metal heads.

Well, it's an indisputable fact that the first 4 Metallica albums are better than any thing they released after. Most music discussion is subjective, this particular topic happens to be one that is not.

Except there was a marked change in their career. The Black Album came out and they took six years off from making another album... Hetfield was seriously injured on-stage in the mean time.

Their music changed, and it's not just snobbery to claim that the first four were better.

At the same time, if they'd just pruned Load and ReLoad down to a single 60-minute album, it would have been pretty dang good. The CD format really hurt a lot of bands that suddenly felt they had to fill a 78-minute disc with filler tracks. The bands who can put out a great 45-60 minute album every 12-18 months are unfortunately much rarer now.

*sigh* yes, I am a total music dork.

I really don't know the subject and just wanted to get in a cheap jab :devilwink:

Lars Ulrich used to "date" my hot stripper cousin back in the early 90's. Met those guys a couple times when they came through town. Actually like 'em now more then back then!

You like them more now? Why, because he isn't bonin' your cousin?

With age my music tastes are broadening. And yes my cousin and her sister are both very hot..... so much so that i would sell my wife and kids on craigslist tomorrow just to watch them shower. Pics soon to follow.....

I've always thought the song "Blackened" would make a great intro to a football game in a movie.

Don't forget Garage Days!

**Yup Yup - Loved that EP - had it on vinyl**

As an aside, in about 1985 I was on vacation with my folks at the Jersey Shore. My brother and I were total metal heads at the time. We saw Ride The Lightning in a store and we liked the cover so we bought the record. Took it back to the beach rental, threw it on the record player and listened to about 3 tunes before we realized the player was set to 45rpm...LOL. It was so weird sounding to us at the time that we really couldn't decide which speed was correct 33 or 45.

My Metallica story...

Metallica was the first concert I ever went to. They were the band that really got me into music...I knew every song and every note I was soooo stoked....So their normal 10minute premusic they always played before they came on was going and finally the come on stage and Im right there 20 feet away in the pit....pure bliss....and then the first song comes on...Breadfan.....Somehow I had no clue of the Garage Album up to that point and I was sooooo fucking confused

Could I watch your wife shower? I thought she was hot when I saw you guys at the preseason game at the MC vs Phoenix.

Better yet, I wouldn't mind meeting this cousin of yours since I am single now.

I can quote things and disagree too.
