Greatest Person To Never be President

I think this might be the consensus, but I'd say Ben Franklin. Just in all areas of life, he improved America. From electricity to politics to the national bird, he was influencial. He established America as a power in the world through his negotations while being ambassador to France. Anyone else you guys can think of as a great non-presidential American?

I agree that Ben Franklyn is without a doubt the most important person in American History never to be president; he likely could have been president had he lived longer. He would have stood a good chance against John Adams in the election of 1796.

Ben Franklin was a smart man, but also a terrible drunk. They used to always send someone home with him whenever he got really drunk, because otherwise he would reveal important secrets. This is a story I have been told, anyway.MLK would have been a great president. He's just a really great speaker. Obviously it is easy to say that he would have been great now that he is gone.

I personally believe the greatest person to never become president is Collin Powell. He would have been a great president for us, much better than Bush, Gore, Kerry, or anyone else that has been in the running for president since Bill Clinton.
