I agree if you are using active players like Kobe you ought to include Wade and Roy.

Sorry Idog, but comparing Wade or Roy to Kobe in terms of career accomplishments (which is essentially what these polls address) is a bit ridiculous.

More valid might be suggesting that Wade should be on this list since Lebron was on the SF list (having played the same number of years). However, even that claim would be highly debateable, as I've not heard anybody suggesting that Wade may eventually be in the GOAT debate, whereas it's basically a given that Lebron will.

1. Michael Jordan
2. Jerry West
3. Kobe Bryant
4. Clyde Drexler

It has nothing to do with Active players.. it has to do with Kobe being at minimum a top 5 shooting guard of all time.

What difference will it make if Kobe's in it and others are not? Michael's going to win this poll by a landslide.

Which category was Oscar Robertson in?

I voted MJ, but was wondering about the Big O.

Ed O.

A better question would have been, who's the 2nd best SG of all time.

And it's a crime that Gervin isn't a choice. He was better than Drexler and Maravich and most certainly better than Iverson. No one guard had more go-to moves than the Iceman....NO ONE.

2b. Kobe
4. Gervin

Iverson, the best his height ever.

But it has to be Jordan.

He was in the point guard category. Players like Robertson and West are hard to classify, because they played before there were real distinctions between the guard spots.

But why is there no Iceman?

No David Thompson, either.

He was a miniature Jordan.

Adrian Dantley was the man also, but some may consider him a forward.

Damn tweeners.

I tried to pick players who people legitimately thought were the single greatest ever at that position, not Top 5 great. Iceman was great but no one ever calls him the very best SG ever. That's why the omission.

Then this poll should be:

1. Michael Jordan
2. Michael Jordan
3. Michael Jordan
4. Michael Jordan
5. Michael Jordan

Bryant, Iverson and Drexler have never legitimately garnered any support for the single greatest shooting guard ever, let alone Maravich who was an amazing college player but not a particularly great NBA player.

West was only called the greatest shooting guard prior to Jordan. So if your criterion was "legitimately considered the greatest ever at one time" then only Jordan and West would qualify.

Then why even put Allen Iverson or Pete Maravich up there? Like I said:clap:, a better thread would have been 2nd best SG of all time, as Michael Jordan is the clear cut best SG of all time - check that - best player of all time.

Yea, who has ever thought that Iverson was the best SG of all time?
