Dan Haggerty, who starred in the 1970s TV series about a rugged and shaggy character living in the wilderness with his grizzly bear pal, has died. He was 74.
His friend and manager of 20 years, Terry Bomar, confirmed Haggerty died early Friday in a hospital inBurbank, Calif., surrounded by his family.
Bomar said Haggerty had been suffering from cancer of the spine since August, diagnosed after he experienced back pain during the summer.
