I would probably do that as well, with a pick coming to us.

Giving up Batum would suck, but adding Love and Flynn would ease that pain. Giving up Joel and Rudy means nothing. Brewer also means nothing IMO.

If the deal included Aldridge instead of Joel, I would flip out and curse the Blazers daily in emails to them.

An unprotected 1st plus Love, Flynn and Brewer for Rudy Joel and Batum. I'd think about that for the unprotected first and Love the rest being filler.

No kidding.

Love is a lot better than Aldridge right now, and Flynn and Brewer easily make up for losing Batum.

For those who don't know where our 3's will come from should note that while they aren't as proficient as Batum, Brewer shot 35%, and Flynn shot 36% from 3

So if the deal were Pryz, Batum and Rudy, you should jump on it before they change their minds. If it's Aldridge, Batum and Rudy, it's still a good deal, but I'd have to think more than a second to pull that deal

WTF? Aldridge AND Batum for Love basically? Fuck that shit.

Batum + Filler for Love + filler + unprotected first I would do.

So Love is as good as Bosh/Amare/Gasol?

I've literally read thousands of your posts, and I've come to the conclusion that you are a "familiarity breeds contempt" and a "grass is greener on the other side" kind of guy. In this case you see only the best in Love and only the worst in Aldridge.

The bottom line is we don't need another low post PF next to GO; we need a guy exactly like Aldridge who can pull the opposing four out and allow Oden to operate one-on-one. And before you decry Oden's injury issues, they are irrelevant. If he's injured, we're not going to compete for a championship. We're only going as far as GO takes us, so we need to best build our post play around him.

Love is not even a little better then LMA. His D is even worse then LMA. He is a good passing PF and is a decent rebounder but he wouldn't better for the Blazers then LMA.

You make great points, but Love can shoot outside. 52% of his shots were from the outside, and he made 41% of them. Aldridge shot 62% of his shots from the outside, and made 42% of his. Given the rebound differences, I think Love is a very good fit next to Oden. It's not that Aldridge isn't though. Love even shot better from 3 than Aldridge did.

Decent rebounder.....ok?

Love is one of the top rebounding PF's in the league. Camby finished 1st, and was .8 ahead of Love.

yup, though I would stick up for Love's ability to pull another Big outside the paint too... dude has a very good jumper and combined with his passing would probably fit very well beside Greg on offense. What he can't do is defend. He's no shotblocking threat at all and certainly isn't able to adequately switch off on 3s and 5s like LA can. His best skill on D is rebounding but Greg already would seem to have that covered. I definitely would rather have LA beside Greg then Love. Adding Love as a 3rd Big would be something I'd be interested in but not if the cost is Batum... they'd have to throw in Rubio to perk my interest.

I'll take LaMarcus' ability to cover multiple positions on defense over Love's rebounding. Especially if it means giving up Batum in the process to get Corey "mother fucking" Brewer and Johnny "what me defense" Flynn.

I like Love and I think he's a pretty good player, but I think he's a lot closer to his ceiling than Nic and overlaps enough with Greg's skills that I think his overall effectiveness would be blunted.

In other news, the Cavs are trying to get Flynn. He is represented by the same people that represent Lebron. Supposedly he has said he would like to play with him.

I have now decided this whole Lebron to Miami thing is BS, and he and his people were just trying to gague reaction.....which has not been possitive

Let's get this straight people. Does anybody think that trading pieces with a 15 win team is a good idea? At what point in your mind does it click that maybe swapping half of a team with a 15 win squad isn't a good idea? There is a reason they sucked. You don't trade half of your team for half of their team and expect it to turn out well.

Love is worse defensively than Zach Randolph. People really want him on this team?

Getting two of their best players for one starter and spare parts... that's not like we're changing the top half of our roster for the top half of THEIR roster.

I think that this is another case of Batum-envy around the league, rather than Nic actually being shopped.

Personally? I really like Nic, but I could be convinced this is a good deal if we can figure out what we're going to do at the 3 spot AND the team likes Flynn, our team would be better positioned moving into the future.

Love will probably end up being a better player than Aldridge--he's three years younger and is already out-producing him--but could come off the bench for a year or two until it makes sense to move him or LaMarcus.

Flynn was underwhelming as a rookie, but he's still only 21 years old and could easily emerge as a good starting PG.

Is there a way for us to get Deng, too? Plugging him in for Batum while we shore up our bench with very good young players seems like it could work, but without Joel's contract I don't know if getting Deng is doable.

Funny, I would have said the opposite. I would only want Love on the team if it could be guaranteed that he would have a healthy, foul-free Oden playing alongside him to cover for his defensive deficiencies.

Offensively, I would think they would be fine.

BTW, I just got off the phone with Kevin Love's agent. (incidentally, whose firm also happens to represent Jerryd and Armon Johnson.) My company is in the process of using Kevin's name for some marketing materials in exchange for work done. Anywho, I'm hopeful that I can get some insights as we progress. Too early to pry at this point, though.

I should add that I have a bias against Kevin Love. That guys is a F***ing L*ker. I hate the Red & Blue as is my birthright.

LOL. That's uh... ambitious.

And Brewer? Nobody wants Brewer. He's the new Ammo.

Brewer got MIP votes. He's basically a backwards Webster...could always play some D, but had Andre MIller's outside game. That's changing.

Do you think he's well respected in Lake Oswego? I'm considering running a promotional ad for our business in The Review using his name/recommendation.

I do. I just have an unusual hatred for the L*kers. I think it comes from having to play our "home" games in the shadow of Ol' Joe.

I've had my doubts...considering him "dissing" an Oregon school for UCLA (although, he did make the right decision there.)

Thanks.
