Saw an ambulance and about five police cars driving away fast, sirens blaring. Must have been the security guard who got stabbed. By the time we made it the remaining mile to the airport, the entrance and exit were blockaded with police cars. Long story short, after several rebookings I am sitting in Detroit airport waiting for my delayed flight to France. Exciting times.

In case you don't know what I'm talking about...

Ugh. Stupid assholes.

Safe travels, Rasta...
Thanks. I think Bishop (that's the name of Flint Airport) is still closed, and at one point they beefed up security at city hall, which is about as far overreacting as it's possible to get. It's also interesting to see how the news fluctuates. We were checking online obsessively because they wouldn't tell us why the airport was closed, and it went from a murder to a shooting to a bomb threat before it settled on the current story. Glad to hear the guard's okay, at least.

Actually surprised there aren't more violent incidents in airports, to be perfectly frank.

I know I've been tempted to wallop a nitwit a time or two...

I think it would be helpful if law enforcement didn't treat everything as the beginning of WWIII. Yes, do what you need to do to get the situation under control, but once it is obvious that it was just one crazy dude and not an army, you could let people get back to normal. That would actually help by providing the terrorists less of a 'win'.

Agree 100%. Of course, in their defense, if it turns out he left a bomb in a bag in the toilet and it goes off and kills a bunch of folks, there would be a shit storm. (Just realized what I did there.)

Well, at least it's made the wingnuts happy. Stabber's name was Amor Ftouhi - go check it on Twitter to see a lot of people with "Patriot" in their twitter names creaming their jeans.

Nice to see you finally admit you're a terrorist. I will be forwarding all of your twitter postings to the FBI.

Terrorist was from Canada!

If the president won't say it then I will, we need a travel ban to and from Canada to protect us from Radical Canadian Terrorists.

Safe travels rasta.....it's getting sketchy to fly these days...sucks
