OT Gun Control? How about Ammo Control? (2 Viewers)

Now that the Florida incident is a couple weeks in the past, talk about; the second amendment, "gun control", weapons, and mental health, have seemed to have slipped on the forums here. As much as I love discussing food, (and I do!) I'm curious about everyones thoughts on how they would feel about a munitions law. Like, every bullet has a number or something. Track the killing bullet back to the person that purchased it? It would be outside the second amendment, so I'm sure the NRA would lobby hard against it....

I'm sure there are holes in my suggestion. At least I'm trying?

I'd suggest limiting the size of magazines. And, by the way, I have no idea what the difference is between a magazine and a clip. Perhaps a clip is a simplified magazine. Does anyone have a definition?

What would you do with guys that load their own ammo? It is a pretty big hobby in this country.

Magazines are containers that hold ammunition. That's why ships have magazines as well.

The AR-15 has a magazine. You load the ammunition into the magazine and put the magazine into the gun.

Clips are not a container. Usually the ammo is put directly into an internal magazine within the gun. The M1 Garande is a perfect example of this.

You misinterpret my post. I tagged him because the clip v magazine issue has been one of his biggest bugaboos on these boards, and I figured he would provide the best answer to the question. Based on his reply, I think I was correct.

A clip holds ammo in a gun.

A magazine is propaganda printed on paper that you read to absorb fake arguments designed to further weaken The Second Amendment.

I think it's been debated to death around here...there was a poll even about what sort of gun control people would accept...I chose manually chambered rifles and shotguns as a safer alternative....from there it was not a productive discussion from my view...I hunted without the need for large amounts of ammo ..it's how I was taught to hunt...until I could bring home supper....I got only one bullet...then if successful I graduated to a handful ...never saw the need for automatic large capacity guns as a private citizen....they can do better with background checks and logging of purchases in gun retail outlets. My experience is that guns don't solve as many problems as they cause in most civilian situations

I'm more than happy to own guns. I will defend my freedom!! I have a few guns myself. Some are actually stored in a safe that is in the same town you reside in (Beautiful Central Oregon).

I'm just trying to find a reasonable solution to all the murders that happen from all of these weapons.

Am I not reasonable?
